FIBA teams are back again this year and as alluded to in last year’s producers blogs, last year’s inclusion of eight teams was merely a taste of things to come. During the event I made sure to play a game with Australia which I have to admit was a lot of fun. Obviously, there are going to be players who will be disappointed that their country’s team is not represented (New Zealand is a noteworthy omission) but the expansion from eight international teams to twenty four will certainly come as good news for a lot of fans around the world. It’s a very well-timed expansion as well since I’m sure there’ll be a lot of interest in international basketball with the upcoming Games in Beijing.
