Two new NBA Live 14 previews have been posted by GamesRadar and Polygon within the past 24 hours or so. The GamesRadar preview refers to NBA Live 14 as a “true contender” and “solid foundation” after the series’ struggles in recent years, mentioning that the game has some rough edges but also shows some “flashes of brilliance”. It also provides a good rundown of the layered controls in the game and mentions that there will be tutorial videos demonstrating how to use them, though unfortunately there will be no practice mode. Interestingly, it also confirms a day one patch for the game.
Meanwhile, Polygon’s preview provides some more insight into the connected experience on offer in NBA Live 14, namely LIVE Season, BIG Moments, NBA Rewind and evolving player data through EA Sports’ partnership with Synergy Sports. It also describes EA Sports HoopsNet as an in-game social network, with a real-time feed of your friends’ activity in every game mode.
