About Us

Welcome to the NLSC!

The NLSC is the largest and longest running independent fansite for basketball video games on the Internet. Founded by Tim Tschirner, Lutz van Hasselt and Brien Smith in August of 1996 as the NBA Live Series Center, the NLSC established itself as the top fansite for the NBA Live series by EA Sports, providing fans with unofficial tools and patches along with the latest news on upcoming games.

Over the years, the site’s coverage has expanded to include the NBA 2K series by 2K Sports, as well as the revival of the NBA Jam series by EA Sports. In August 2011, the site re-branded itself as simply the NLSC, to better reflect the expanded content and the change in focus from being solely an NBA Live fansite.

Today, the NLSC endeavours to provide the basketball video gaming community with the latest news, information, downloads and discussion on NBA Live, NBA 2K and NBA Jam. It hosts a thriving and talented patching community for NBA Live and NBA 2K, offering free file hosting facilities and a wealth of patchmaking resources.

The NLSC is also involved in several of EA Sports’ community based initiatives for NBA Live, having been represented by a staff member at several community events. The site has long enjoyed a cordial relationship with NBA Live’s development team, submitting an annual Wishlist containing suggestions from the community. The NLSC does remain an unofficial fansite however, having no affiliation with EA Sports, 2K Sports, or any other video game developer or entity.
