The official NBA Live 08 website has been updated with a Community Talk section that will feature blogs by Community Manager "Crazylegs", a Producer Blog documenting the progress of NBA Live 08 straight from the source and an NBA Draft Countdown complete with wallpapers. An initiative to help NBA Live 07 gamers obtain the Xbox Live achievement of being online at the same time as 1000 other players has been put forth by this website and is set to take place on June 9th. NBA Live 08 Producer Blog Updated |

The NBA Live 08 Producer Blog over at IGN has been updated with more information about some of the fundamental improvements that have gone into this year's game. A couple of key points that are mentioned include the timing of jumpshots and addition of more signature styles, animation blending on passes, rebounding behaviour and ball physics. NBA Live 2005 named favourite Live |

The results are in: NBA Live 2005 has been named as the favourite game in the series garnering 25% of the vote in a recent poll, dethroning the traditional choice of NBA Live 2000 which came in third with 17% of the vote, just behind NBA Live 07 which finished second with 18% of the vote.
Thanks to everyone who voted in the poll! Our next poll to determine the least favourite game in the series will be posted soon. |

A new online league called the Street Draft League 2007 has just started and is inviting new members to sign up. The league utilises the NBA Street 07 mod and will be holding its initial draft this Sunday. Which NBA Finals matchup would you like to see most? A rematch of the 2005 NBA Finals featuring the Spurs and Pistons? A matchup of two teams that have never won the NBA title in the Jazz and Cavaliers? Alternatively, you may prefer to see LeBron James square off against Tim Duncan or Carlos Boozer and Rasheed Wallace lock horns. Or, it may not even matter to you at all. What's your preference? In our last poll, 67% of voters voiced approval of the 2007 NBA Playoffs while 18% expressed dissatisfaction, with a further 9% deeming them boring. |

A new version (v1.08) of the current roster update for NBA Live 07 has been released and is available to download here.
Key features of v1.08:
- 2006/2007 Playoff Rosters (accurate as of 19/05/07)
- 2006/2007 Opening Night Rosters added
- Player ratings updated for more realistic performance
- Primacy ratings updated for better shot distribution
- Player positions and data updated/corrected
- Fatigue ratings updated for better substitution patterns
- Cyberfaces for all newly added players
- Portraits for all newly added players
- Some player heights and weights corrected
- Chris Webber's salary in Opening Night rosters corrected

Brian Ullrich has posted the first in a series of NBA Live 08 Producer blogs over at IGN. Although his initial blog does not offer much in the way of new information, he reiterates the focus on 5-on-5 basketball and outlines some of the improvements the production team is looking to make and how they intend to get there. NBA Street Homecourt Downloadables |

Some new downloadable content has been released for NBA Street Homecourt on the Xbox Live Marketplace. Amongst the new content are additional characters, apparel and homecourts. Most of the downloads will cost $3.75 USD however a couple will be available free of charge. More information and a few screenshots can be found below. |

Dirk named MVP; New Poll |

The results of our last poll which asked "Now that the regular season is over, who is your pick for MVP?" took several interesting turns over the past couple of weeks. After Dirk Nowitzki took an early lead, Kobe Bryant soon become the favourite choice until Steve Nash made a final push to lead with 31% of the vote. 23% of all voters were proven correct today as the league named Dirk Nowitzki MVP for the 2006/2007 season.

-improved colors for the away and alternate jerseys
-removed mesh holes
-clearer wordmarks

Bobcats and Raptors Jerseys Done |

I've finished doing the Charlotte Bobcats jerseys. A lot of changes has been made compared to EA's version:
-improved colors for the away and alternate jersey
-increased the wordmarks size
-made the jersey textures shiny
-new practice jerseys
-new jersey portraits

GameSpot have posted a preview of NBA Live 08, which can read here. It doesn't offer much in the way of new information though it does mention better camera movements and post-whistle animations. Thanks to Jumpman2315 for the heads up.
IGN have also posted an interview with Brian Ullrich where he talks about the development team's focus and aims as well as some of the improvements in NBA Live 08. You can check it out here. Credit goes to sammynine for the find. |

Raptors Done |

New Jersey Nets' Richard Jefferson scored off a spin-move and made a great defensive stop in the dying seconds of Game 6 to clinch the series-ending victory over the Toronto Raptors. The Nets now advance to the second round to face the Cleveland Cavaliers.
And it so happened that after the Raptors are eliminated from the Playoffs, I was able to finish their jerseys:

One of the oldest non-modem leagues, the NBA Live Competition League, is getting ready for its fourth season beginning with a fantasy draft. There are currently nine teams still open for enthusiastic players who can dedicate themselves to playing and posting two games per week. The official website for NBA Live 08 is now up and running. It's got some videos and images of Gilbert Arenas, as well as a template that you can use to create your own cover. Thanks to will658761 for the heads up.

I've remade the jerseys of the Boston Celtics. It's now available for download.
Features:
- Changed the color to a desaturated green.
- Adds the Red Auerbach clover logo and the black stripe on all team jerseys.
- Recolored the numbers of the alternate jersey.
- Practice jerseys included, made the back letters transparent.
- Jersey portraits included.
