IGN has put up another article outlining the major gameplay changes in NBA Live 08. This time it's about the inside game. It talks about how the post-up now is much more of a battle and how much the collisions have been improved thanks to two-player motion-capture. There are also five new screenshots. Three NBA Live 08 commercials have been posted over at Gilbertology.net that is supposed to air during the NBA Draft tonight. They feature Gilbert Arenas and March Madness 08 coverboy Kevin Durant. The first one can be found here, and the two other ones can be found here.

GameSpy and IGN have put up some new video interviews with the soon-to-be NBA rookies who were at the EA Sports studios a while back. They talk about what is considered a Go To Move, and what their individual Go To Moves are. The videos on GameSpy can be found here, and the ones on IGN can be found here. |

The official NBA Live 08 website has been updated with some new video interviews about the Go To Moves with producer Brian Ullrich, former NBA player Kiki Vandeweghe, as well as six of the soon-to-be NBA rookies. You can check the videos out here.
Gamespot has also posted a Hands-On article about NBA Live 08. It brings up how the game has improved it's gameplay, but it doesn't go into much detail and doesn't say much that we don't already know, but it's still a nice read. Here's the link to the article.

In a little while I'll be flying out to New York for the NBA Live 08 community event. I'm going to be difficult to reach for the rest of the week and will likely have to take care of a bulk of any emails or private messages I receive (if not all of them) when I get back. I'll be back this Sunday, hopefully with some good news about the upcoming game. |

NBA Live 07 Current Roster v1.10 Released |

A new version (v1.10) of the current roster update for NBA Live 07 has been released and is available to download here. It contains the final update for the 2006/2007 season and the first update for the 2007 offseason.
Key features of v1.10:
- Final 2006/2007 Rosters
- 2007/2008 Offseason Rosters
- Player ratings updated for more realistic performance
- Primacy ratings updated for better shot distribution
- Player positions and data updated/corrected
- Fatigue ratings updated for better substitution patterns
- Cyberfaces for all newly added players
- Portraits for all newly added players
- Some player heights and weights corrected
- Stan Van Gundy added as the Orlando Magic's coach

As many of you have probably noticed, the site and forum have been running slower than usual the past couple of days. Go-To Moves Article & New Screens |

IGN have posted an article on the Go-To Moves feature which you can check out here. The article also mentions some other noteworthy changes which have yet to be explained in detail, including a replacement for Freestyle moves and the addition of "hot zones" which will reportedly represent the exact areas on the floor a player prefers to shoot from. NBA Live 08 Video: Go-To Moves |

IGN has put up a short video about NBA Live 08 on their website. It features producer Brian Ullrich who talks about a new feature in the game, called Go-To Moves. It shows Kobe and Dirk's fadeaway as well as Dwyane's step-back jumper. We are also told that it's not just shots, but moves as well... To check out the video, here's the link.

The NBA Live League Association has just concluded its Draft and is about to commence a new season of play. The leagues uses NBA Live 07 and requires a DSL/Cable connection and the motivation to play at least three games per week. NBA Live Competition League News |

I've received word that the NBA Live Competition League has four vacancies: the Timberwolves, Trailblazers, Clippers and Grizzlies. The NLCL is a non-modem league, not a sim league, so anyone interested must be able to play and post two games per week. More information can be found at their website. |

NBA Live 08 Community Event |

EA Sports will be holding another NBA Live Community Event this year from June 26th until June 28th in New York which will also incorporate the NBA Draft. I'll be flying out next Monday (the 25th) and will once again have the opportunity to ask the producers questions and preview the game and report back with my hands-on impressions of NBA Live 08. Hopefully I'll be able to post some reports while I'm over there, though I'll be writing up a detailed recap once I get back on July 1st as well as answering as many questions as possible. |

Notice something new?
For those who are unaware, we've implemented a new site-wide design today including a new Forum skin, which we hope you'll like as much as we do. We've also revamped the individual NBA Live subsites and added a new NBA Live Wiki that will serve as our knowledge base from now on. We're looking forward to bringing you bigger and better coverage in our new look site in the near future.
I'd like to take a moment to congratulate Andreas on all the fantastic work he's done with this design. We've all made contributions to this relaunch but Andreas spearheaded this initiave and I for one believe he's done an outstanding job. |

The first gameplay videos from NBA Live 08 (Next Gen) have been posted over at IGN. In one clip the Los Angeles Lakers are facing the Phoenix Suns, and in the other it's the Cleveland Cavaliers facing the San Antonio Spurs. The clips are just 45 seconds long though, so they don't show all that much. To see the videos, follow this link.

The 2006/2007 NBA season is officially in the books, which is as good a time as any to reflect upon the year that was. What did you think of the 2007 season? Cast your vote in our new poll.
The final result of our last poll was pretty even with 51% picking the Cavaliers to win the title. Initially about 60% of the vote was in Cleveland's favour before opinion started to swing as the Finals series progressed. 49% of voters were proved correct in their predictions today as the Spurs won their fourth championship in nine seasons. |

Congratulations to the San Antonio Spurs, winners of the 2007 NBA Championship! Tony Parker was named Finals MVP as the Spurs completed their first Finals sweep with an 83-82 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game Four.

A new entry in the NBA Live 08 Producer Blog has been posted over at IGN and covers another two elements of game fundamentals: locomotion and collisions. Some of the key points mentioned include the further elimination of foot "sliding" while retaining player responsiveness and player interactions. You can read the entire blog entry here.

The last couple of days there have been some really bad storms where I live which have caused a fair amount of damage and destruction around the city. While I personally haven't been hit the hardest by the storm I'm currently without power and as such have been forced to make alternative arrangements as far as getting online. So, if you need to get in touch with me about any site related matters you will have to be patient as I probably won't get to check my email more than a once a day for the next couple of days. I probably won't have much of a chance to check out the Forum either so if you send me a PM during the next couple of days I'll get back to you as soon as I can. |

I've finished doing the 2002-03 Toronto Raptors jerseys for NBA Live 07. This patch will add the old purple jerseys of the Raptors worn during Vince Carter's prime.

Finals Sim & Community Blog Updated |

A couple of updates have been posted over at the official NBA Live 08 website. The first is a simulation of the 2007 NBA Finals using NBA Live 07, which predicted the Spurs to win in six games despite a valiant effort on the part of LeBron James the Cavaliers. You can read the entire article here.
The Community Blog has also been updated with some news from around the online NBA Live community, including the photoshop work posted in the official forums and a mention of my roster update released this past weekend. There's also news of an NBA Live 08 Wishlist Project featured on the official boards as well as an announcement that producer Brian Ullrich will be answering ten questions taken from the community. NBA Finals Poll |

With the Cleveland Cavaliers' victory over the Detroit Pistons in Game 6, they secured their first NBA Finals appearance where they will meet the San Antonio Spurs. It's the matchup that 37% of voters in our last poll wanted to see, with a further 32% voting in favour of a rematch of the 2005 NBA Finals between the Spurs and Pistons.
Game 1 of the 2007 NBA Finals is set to tip off in San Antonio this Thursday at 9:00 EDT. In the meantime, make your pick for this year's NBA champion in our new poll. Will Tim Duncan win his fourth title or will LeBron James capture his first? Cast your vote now! |

Version 1.1 of the Jersey Update Mega Pack for NBA LIVE 07 is now released. It now contains 153 jerseys and portraits, and team gear updates. Bonus jerseys are included. Some jerseys are fixed to be 100% working.

Producer Blog: Fundamentals Part Two |

Brian Ullrich has posted a new blog entry over at IGN detailing more improvements to the fundamental aspects of NBA Live 08, specifically dunks and layups. Some key points include improvements to rim and backboard interaction (no more dunks through the backboard), tuning the number of missed dunks and layups for a more realistic result, the decision to abandon the seperate dunk and layup buttons and the greater use of context so that players will attempt different moves depending on the situation.
