A blockbuster trade that will send Kevin Garnett to the Boston Celtics is reportedly all but finalised, ending KG's 12 year stint in Minnesota. With the Big Ticket joining All-Stars Paul Pierce and Ray Allen, the Celtics should not only make some noise in the NBA next season but perhaps become a popular choice for a Dynasty team in NBA Live 08.

I'd fallen behind with this since a lot of NBA Live 08 screenshots and videos were sent to me while I was in New York and I've had a lot of things to catch up on since then including the post Draft roster patch, but I've finally updated the NBA Live 08 Media section with everything we've received so far. Now that I'm up to date, new media will be posted as soon as it comes in. Please note that as these are widely distributed assets many of you have probably seen them already but if not, they'll be new to you.

Despite a Playoffs and NBA Finals series that was widely criticised by sportswriters and fans alike, the 2006/2007 NBA season was rated fairly well with 28% of all voters describing it as good, with a further 18% opining that it was awesome and 27% voting in favour of it being alright. 14% of all voters however felt that last season was terrible.

The wait is over: the post Draft patch is finally here! I apologise for delaying it last week but it was necessary for me to get it done. The first update after the Draft is always one of the most difficult and time consuming as there's always at least 60 new players to create but in any event, v1.11 has been completed and is available to download here.

Key features of v1.11:
- 2007/2008 Offseason Rosters accurate as of 21/7/07
- All 60 2007 Draftees and 11 undrafted rookies added
- Player ratings updated for more realistic performance
- Primacy ratings updated for better shot distribution

Originally I had intended to release a post Draft roster update for NBA Live 07 today, however I am unfortunately going to have to postpone the update due until Sunday, July 22nd. Although I have added all necessary players to date, I am still missing around 15 faces for draftees and undrafted free agents who have signed thus far. I'm also still working on rookie ratings as well as updating some player bio data. I did consider releasing a "beta" update of sorts this weekend and following up with a full update next weekend but I would prefer to utilise the extra week to put some more quality work into the updates.

I don't like to postpone the updates if I can avoid it but at the same time I do not like to release work that I am not satisfied with. I apologise to everyone looking forward to the release but this delay should ensure a better update. Thank you for your patience and understanding, I do intend to continue updates through the offseason and am not cancelling future updates for NBA Live 07.

Gamespot have posted a video of an NBA Live 08 stage demo from E3 featuring executive producer Brent Nielsen which you can find here. The video is about twelve minutes long and features gameplay footage along with Brent's commentary. A demo on Xbox Live has also been mentioned and is expected to be released about a month before the game comes out. Credit goes to huddy187 for the find.

Since the Community Day, a few people have been asking whether the Playstation 3 version of NBA Live 08 will run at 60 frames per second the same as the Xbox 360 version. I have just received a bulletin from EA Sports confirming that the PS3 version will indeed run at the same frame rate as the Xbox 360 version.

I'm hoping to find out some more details about the PC version soon. As soon as any information becomes available to me I'll be sure to post it.

As you've hopefully noticed the site has been running smoother the last couple of days. We will continue to monitor the situation but it seems as though we are past the issues that were plaguing the site for the last couple of weeks.

For those who may have missed it, I've posted my first reports from the NBA Live 08 Community Day, detailing my gameplay impressions and providing a recap of some of the other events that took place last week. Once a couple of embargo dates pass I'll be able to post some impressions of Dynasty Mode, so check back for soon for that. In the meantime, feel free to ask questions and post some feedback on the report in the NLSC Forum and I'll try to answer you as best I can. Please note that I won't be able to answer some questions until I'm allowed to talk about certain features.

I've posted my report from the NBA Live 08 Community Day in our NBA Live 08 subsite. At present there are still a couple of things I cannot talk about yet but I've posted a full gameplay report complete with my hands-on impressions and some first hand information on aspects such as Hot Zones, Quick Strike Ballhandling, Go To Moves and Own the Paint. As I mentioned in an earlier post, I have not yet posted my report from the NBA Live Community Day as there are a couple of things I am not allowed to talk about yet. A lot of people have been asking about the post Draft roster update (v1.11) for NBA Live 07. As I said before I left, the next update is tentatively scheduled for release on Sunday, July 15th. Hopefully I will not have to postpone the update any further than that but at present I do intend on continuing the updates through the offseason up until the release of NBA Live 08, so I'll keep everyone informed of any changes to the projected release as well as future release dates.

So to speak! I actually meant to post a notice yesterday but after 20+ hours of travel, a few hours of uninterrupted sleep was the first thing on my mind. Anyway, I had an awesome time at the community event and got some good info on NBA Live 08 along with some hands-on impressions which I'll be sharing with everyone very soon, as well as some other stories from the event. I'll have some more on that later, in the meantime I'll be catching up on emails and some other site business so if you're still waiting for a reply I apologise for the delay, and I'll get in touch with you soon.
