In anticipation of the release of NBA Live 08, we've expanded the NBA Live 08 board in the NLSC Forum with the usual subsections including patching help, patch requests and announcements, Dynasty Mode discussion and technical troubleshooting. You'll also find a section for the NLSC current roster update that will be opened upon the release of the first roster patch, which will be coming out soon after I get my hands on the PC version (more information as to the specific date will be made available leading up to the release of v1.00).

The "big announcement" that was rumoured earlier is an EA Sports Jersey Creating Contest, where the winner will get his jersey design to be featured in NBA Live 08 (as downloadable contents), an autographed Gilbert Arenas jersey and 6 game titles from EA SPORTS. The runner up will receive 5 game titles, and the person finishing in third will get a copy of NBA Live 08. So, get your creative juices flowing and enter the contest here.

A new community blog entry over on the official NBA Live 08 websites once again hints at a big announcement coming very soon. The blog also mentions the latest NBA Live 08 commercial that aired during Monday Night Football and the first wave of impressions from the community. Pastapadre got his advance copy of NBA Live 08 today and has already managed to post a full game. The game is between the Houston Rockets and the Seattle Supersonics on the superstar difficulty with 8 minute quarters. Here's the link to his blog post with the videos.

EA Sports have sent us an update on the status of EA Sportsworld:

"EA is pleased to announce the re-opening of our Sports World Beta program. We are closely monitoring the loads and performance of the site and will continue to make capacity and processing improvements. In order to improve stability we have implemented a temporary gating system which allows entry for up to 1,000 users per 15 minutes. You may encounter a wait message but we're working hard to minimize wait times, and will remove the gating system as soon as possible."

TeamXBOX have posted a bunch of new NBA Live 08 screenshots including some shots of the Dunk Contest, which you can find here. Thanks to The Reason for the heads up.

I'm told that the UBL will commence their playoffs in mid October and are on the lookout for four GMs to fill vacancies. UBL is an online league that is currently using NBA Live 07 and will switch to NBA Live 08 upon its release. Please note that UBL is a German league and due to the forum language and for optimum connection quality for online play, the vacancies are only open to NBA Live players from Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Anyone interested should check out their website for more details.

Anyone interested in joining a sim league may be interested in the following bulletin posted on our Community Switchboard:

The National Basketball Simulation League (NBSL) is entering its 3rd season and looking for a few qualified GMs. The NBSL is an NBA simulation league that allows GMs to manage their teams as NBA GMs by drafting, signing, and trading players. Each season is simulated over the course of the NBA season on the newest version of NBA Live - PC version, and screenshots of standings, box scores, etc are posted.

Trading is now open, and the 2007 NBSL Rookie Draft and summer free agency are about to begin, so new GMs have the opportunity to mold their team before the 2007-08 season begins in late October. Please contact the administrator at the main board if you wish to manage one of the available teams.

A new NBA Live 08 producer blog has been posted at IGN, check it out here. In the blog, producer Sean Ramjagsingh talks about the development of the Playstation 2 version (from which the PC version is ported), confirming that Go-To Moves and Hot Spots have been implemented in those versions of the game. EA has updated their info website with new information on the PS2/PC and Wii versions of the game.

It seems like the PC version of 08 will include most of the 08 gameplay features excluding quick strike ball handling.

This is the first information from EA themselves, but these info sheets have been incorrect in the past. Feel free to view and discuss the fact sheets in this topic.

The NBA Live Championship Sim League is set to tip off a new season in a couple of weeks and is still on the lookout for aspiring GMs to fill twelve vacancies. For more information, check out their website.

The NBA Dynasty league is a new sim league on the lookout for active GMs. The league will use NBA Live 07 with updated rosters and randomly assign teams through a Draft process. If you're interested, check out their website for more details.

Another new sim league, NBA's Big-Men, is also looking for enthusiastic GMs to fill twelve vacancies. The league will be holding a fantasy Draft very soon. More details can be found at their website.

Gametap.com has posted an interview with Gilbert Arenas which you can find here. In the interview, Agent Zero talks about having input into the game, his love of video gaming and his impressions of NBA Live 08. Thanks to lathrowback for the heads up.

A new community blog entry has been posted over at the official NBA Live 08 website, which you can find here. The blog confirms that the Xbox 360 demo for NBA Live 08 will be out very soon. A Playstation 3 demo has also now been mentioned and while there is no date at the moment, we can expect it to become available in the PS3 Store on a Thursday. The blog also contains thoughts on Team USA's victory and answers some questions about the new online leagues for NBA Live 08.

It wasn't the most suspenseful poll we've held, but NBA Live 07 has been named as the least favourite instalment in the NBA Live series by voters in the NLSC Forum, taking home 64% of the vote. NBA Live 06 came in second with 11% of the vote while NBA Live 2003 finished third with 9%. Earlier this year NBA Live 2005 was named the favourite instalment among NBA Live fans. Whew, it has been a while since I have posted anything new, but I hope you all enjoy this practice court I just whipped up.

Basically it is just an empty Madison Square Garden with a custom court to mimic what Next Gen NBA Live 08 will be doing with their shoot-around mode.
