Remember the safest order of things on New Year's Eve:
1. Fireworks
2. Drink
And not vice-versa!

NBA Live PC Mod BETA Releases |

I've released a couple of BETA, um, releases for the NBA Live PC patch for NBA Live 06. I will be updating the first post of the main thread with a checklist of what needs to be done for a version 1 release by the community. Check it out and credits to c0nr4d for jerseys, UltraNIX for the Ball, and the many many SUM patchers for faces and tattoos.

The NBA Live Sim League is a sim league with a fantasy draft which utilises NBA Live 07 and SUM. Currently there are still some teams available, if you'd like to sign up please check out their website for more details. |

NBA Live PC: A NLSC Community Update |

One more news article for the day...why not.
I have announced that the Complete Overhaul Mod that I have been giving previews for is going to be for NBA Live 06 PC. I have dubbed the mod "NBA Live PC" for the time being and is a community team update meaning anyone who wants to can work on the mod. I have made an announcement in this thread and feel free to discuss my decision. I will be updating the first post of that thread in the coming days with download links for what I already have done and compatible 07/08 community patches that you can use. |

I have posted some more screens and a new trailer for my upcoming mod. Again I still have not announced which version of the game I am updating but you can check it out here. (Just because the stadiums say "NBA Live 08" doesn't mean I am updating Live 08, I'm just using the textures for the time being) |

Vacation Plans |

This afternoon I'm flying up to Queensland where I'll be spending Christmas with my brother in Brisbane. During this time I'll have Internet access so I still plan on being around to answer email and get on the Forum a bit more often, as well as continuing to work on new versions of the roster updates and other NLSC projects. Therefore, if you want to get in touch with me you can do so via the usual methods (email or PM in the Forum) and I'll get back to you as soon as possible.

News Comments & Other Technical Issues |

You may have noticed the comments on news articles disappearing lately. We haven't been deleting them, rather it seems they're the latest casualty of the ongoing technical difficulties we've been working to fix. We are still in the midst of making alternative arrangements that should resolve these problems once and for all; unfortunately these arrangements are taking longer than expected to finalise, in part due to the holiday season, but it shouldn't be too much longer before everything is in place. Thanks again for your patience and understanding, I'm looking forward to getting these issues stamped out. |

Online Team Play Update for PS3 Released |

I've been informed that the Online Team Play update for the Playstation 3 version of NBA Live 08 has been released and is automatically available when connected online. I'm also told that the update will be available for the Xbox 360 version of the game later this month. For those unfamiliar with the update, it allows players on up to ten different consoles to take control of a player and play online. |

NBA Live Competition League |

The NBA Live Competition League is being revived at a new home, www.thenlcl.com. The NLCL is an offline league that requires members to own either NBA Live 07 or NBA Live 08 and be able to actively participate, logging in at least once every two days. The league is also on the lookout for new staff. If you're interested, check out their website for more details. |

Online Team Play Update for PS3 |

The following notice has been posted here over on the official NBA Live 08 website:
We've experienced an issue with the PS3 patch we released around noon western time - if you downloaded this patch and cannot run NBA LIVE 08, please delete the patch in order to be able to play the game.
To do so, go in your PS3 system menu under Game > Game Data Utility.
One of the items will be "NBA LIVE 08" - please choose this item and select DELETE. From that point on, you'll be able to use your game normally.
The Xbox 360 OTP update is not mentioned, nor are any other official updates for any platform at this time aside from the official roster update which was released last week. |

I've been told that a new site, Dynasty Digest, has just opened and offers fans of both NBA Live and NBA 2K to post Dynasty/Association stories for the enjoyment of their fellow gamers. The site also features a sim league that is currently looking for new members. Plenty of teams are still available so if you're interested, check out the Dynasty Digest site for more details. |

NBA Live 08 Roster Update v1.00 Released |

The initial version (v1.00) of the current roster update for NBA Live 08 is now available to download here.
Key features of v1.00:
- Initial Release
- 2007/2008 Season Rosters accurate as of 09/12/07
- Player ratings updated for more realistic performance
- Primacy ratings updated for better shot distribution
- Player positions and data updated/corrected
- Cyberfaces and portraits for missing players
- Coaches updated complete with faces
- Player salaries and contracts updated
- Missing Legends added complete with faces
- Rookie/Sophomore teams updated with potential participants
- Team USA updated with the 2007 lineup
- Dream Team I & Dream Team III added

Official NBA Live 08 Roster Update Released |

The second official roster update for the Xbox 360 version of NBA Live 08 has been released and is now available to download through Xbox Live. The rosters are updated through December 5th and add some missing players such as Grizzlies' rookie Mike Conley, however other noteworthy players such as Miami's Anfernee Hardaway are still missing and it doesn't appear as though any ratings have been updated. Nevertheless, Xbox 360 players looking to update the rosters will probably want to grab the new update.
No further word on the Online Team Play update (aside from the recent In The Paint blog entry) or any other updates for either version of the game as yet but as soon as more info becomes available it will be posted. |

I am looking to start a huge community project to completely update a NBA Live PC game to the point where we wouldn't have to buy NBA Live 09 if we didn't want to. If you could answer these three questions and either leave a comment on this news item or post your answers in This Thread. Thank you.

A new In The Paint blog entry has been posted over at the official NBA Live 08 website, which you can check out here. The latest blog once again mentions the official roster update and Online Team Play update for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 versions of NBA Live 08, once again hinting that the roster update's release is getting much closer and that the online update is still being polished. |

The National Basketball Simulation League has a few openings as it enters its third season. Anyone interested in signing up for one of the available teams should check out their website and get in touch with the league administrations ASAP as the free agency period will be underway very soon. |

NBA Live 08 NLSC Roster Release Date |

I'm pleased to say I've been able to make a lot of progress on the NLSC current roster update for NBA Live 08 over the weekend and am currently looking at releasing it next Monday (December 10th). So far I've gone through the ratings for all NBA players and made adjustments, making sure to update their counterparts on the various All-Star teams. I'm now in the process of creating a few missing players and putting on the final touches such as salaries and correcting bio data here and there as well as making sure I've got all the art I need when compiling the installation. I'm also hoping to include a few extras to make up for the late release. The upside of the late release is that I've got a month's worth of season statistics to take into consideration when updating the ratings, which as always will be an ongoing project as the season progresses.
Thanks to everyone who has been so patient in waiting for the rosters, once again I'm sorry that it's taken so long but unfortunately various issues and an aim to make v1.00 as detailed as possible have kept pushing it back. Fortunately, the finish line is in sight for the initial release. |

Reaction to NBA Live 08; 2008 MVP |

In our last poll, 25% of voters declared NBA Live 08 terrible with a further 22% deeming it disappointing. Only 14% of voters felt the game was excellent with 18% rating the game as good and 21% suggesting it was an average offering. As yet there is still no word on any fixes for either version of NBA Live 08, but as soon as I receive any news I'll be sure to post it.
