Our maintenance has finally been completed, thank you for your patience. Unfortunately it was necessary to disable access during the maintenance so no data was lost. As you will hopefully notice, we've been able to fix a few problems around the Forum as well as add a few new features we hope will be useful and enjoyable. As we have just gone live with the updated Forum, please bear with us while we cross-check for any issues. If you are using the auto-login function, you may have to login again. You may also need to update your avatar if it is not working properly. Sorry for any inconvenience.
We anticipate this latest round of updates and fixes will ultimately help us overcome the technical difficulties we have been experiencing, however please note that this is just the first step in eliminating the nagging issues that have been plaguing us. We will continue to work on solving those problems permanently. A special thanks to Ben from nbavideogames.org for his advice, assistance and instructions with the latest attempt at resolving our technical woes.

All-Star Starters Announced |

The NBA has announced the starters for the 2008 NBA All-Star Game which will be held February 17th in New Orleans. Kevin Garnett will be starting for the East for the first time in his career and will be joined by Dwight Howard, LeBron James, Jason Kidd and Dwyane Wade. Allen Iverson and Kobe Bryant will start in the backcourt for the West with Yao Ming, Tim Duncan and Carmelo Anthony up front.

The poll for an online NBA Live 08 Online Team Play Night over at pastapadre.com have shown a strong preference towards Friday and Saturday, so the current aim is to hold a couple of games on both nights. Currently potential participants can vote on which matchup they'd prefer to take part in, more information can be found here. |

NBA Live Challenge |

The 2nd annual NBA Live Challenge is back. The challenge is being held in 8 cities across America, as well as one online tournament. The winner of the tournament will receive a check for $10,000 USD.
Here are the dates for the tournaments.
1/19 at 1 pm PST in Los Angeles
1/25 at 5 pm PST in Dallas
1/27 at 1 pm CST in Chicago
2/02 at 1 pm EST in Atlanta
2/07 at 3 pm EST in New York
2/09 at 1 pm EST in Philadelphia
2/10 at 1 pm EST in Boston
2/15 at 4 pm CST in New Orleans
The Finals are on 2/16 in New Orleans.

New NBA Live 08 Official Roster Update |

For those who may have missed it, a new official roster update for the Xbox 360 version of NBA Live 08 has been released by EA Sports. The rosters are dated January 3rd, 2008 but appear to be missing a couple of transactions (notably the Charlotte/Detroit and Utah/Philadelphia trades from last December) and at first glance it appears as though no new players have been added to the roster. There have however been a few lineup dates. If you’d like to download the rosters, you can do so through the Xbox Live menu under Online Settings.
As far as our unofficial updates for the PC version of Live are concerned, I expect to release new updates for both NBA Live 08 and NBA Live 07 very soon. |

OTP Update for the Xbox 360 Now Available |

The Online Team Play Update for the Xbox 360 version of NBA Live 08 has finally been released and is automatically available to all players through Xbox Live. The update allows for any combination of online players from 1 vs 1 up to 5 vs 5 for a maximum of ten players on ten different consoles, with the CPU controlling any players not being controlled by a player; if there are available players, you can also switch to them as normal. Voice communication is also available and is restricted so that you are only talking to your teammates. |

I've been informed that the NBA Live Competition League is looking for 10 GMs. The NLCL is an offline league which requires its members to own either NBA Live 07 or NBA Live 08. If you're interested, head on over to their website ASAP. |

Happy New Year! Welcome to what I hope will be a successful year for the NLSC and the NBA Live community. As you might have seen there are a few projects under development amongst the patchmaking community including the NBA Live PC mod for NBA Live 06 that JaoSming is heading up. As I mentioned in a previous news post the holiday season has slowed progress on the alternative arrangements and solution to our technical problems but I'm looking forward to finalising those arrangements very soon.
I hope every had a fun and safe New Year's Eve, thanks as always for dropping by the site and I hope we can continue to grow and better serve our fellow basketball gamers in 2008. |
