Details of the next Online Team Play Night have been posted over at pastapadre.com. This week's OTP Night will take place Friday February 29th at 5 PM Pacific/8 PM Eastern. Once again, the first matchup will feature two of the lower ranked teams and the second will feature two FIBA teams. Cast your vote for your preference here. |

Five questions have been answered by NBA Live line producer Brian Ullrich over on the official NBA Live 08 website, which you can check out here. In this first Q&A, Brian addresses the blocking animations, player shorts, the ability to edit player accessories and the future of Go To Moves. Brian also stated in response to one of the questions that more info on the PC version will be coming later. |

Total Renovation Update |

The second version of Total Renovation Update has been released in the Live 03 Add-Ons section. This is a mod that has been updated since the initial release in August 2007, and it replaces many of the art files in NBA Live 2003 to update it to current players, jerseys, logos, courts, etc. Many thanks go out to ALL who have helped to develop this mod in its entirety. Work will still continue to update this mod as much as possible with all facets of the current NBA, so be on the lookout for further work! |

A new version of the current roster update (v1.19) for NBA Live 07 is now available to download here.
Key features of v1.19:

I've been told that the NBA Live GM League will be holding a fantasy Draft and is on the lookout for dedicated, active GMs to take control of some vacant teams in their sim league. Check out their website for more information. |

Several Deadline Deals Reported |

According to the Wiretap over at RealGM, there have been a flurry of trades agreed to before the trade deadline. Discuss the latest transactions in the NBA Talk section of our Forum.
Needless to say, I'm already picturing making all these moves in the next versions of the roster updates for NBA Live 07 and NBA Live 08 (both out this weekend) but I'm certainly not complaining as the reported deals are sure to shake things up in the NBA as teams gear up for the Playoffs in April. |

Dunk Contest King, New Poll |

The Dunk Contest was easily the most anticipated All-Star Weekend event amongst voters in our last poll, taking home 49% of the vote. The All-Star game itself placed second garnering 36% of the vote. The three point shootout finished third with 9% of the vote.

Kidd trade finally completed |

Jason Kidd is finally on his way to Dallas. The revised deal will send Devin Harris, DeSagana Diop, Maurice Ager, Keith Van Horn (in a sign-and-trade), Trenton Hassell, two first round picks and $3 million to New Jersey for Kidd, Malik Allen and Antoine Wright. Have your say on the trade here.
New roster updates for NBA Live 08 and NBA Live 07 will be out this weekend and will include the Kidd and Bibby trades, as well as any other deals that go down before the trade deadline. The rosters will also included final All-Star Weekend lineups and ratings updates. |

Quite an interesting night for OTP. An immature player made constant farting noises through the microphone and abused the select button causing technical and intentional fouls until we got rid of him. The Jason Kidd deal may still be up in the air but another point guard will be changing uniforms as the Sacramento Kings sent Mike Bibby to the Atlanta Hawks in exchange for Anthony Johnson, Tyronn Lue, Lorenzen Wright and Shelden Williams. The trade is pending league approval and physicals. Discuss the deal, the 2008 All-Star Weekend and much more in our NBA Talk section.
On the subject of the roster updates: I'll have new updates for both 08 and (finally) 07 later this afternoon/tonight after the conclusion of All-Star Saturday. Neither will include the Bibby or Kidd trades however they will be up to date with all other transactions and the latest All-Star Weekend lineups. The post All-Star Weekend updates for both 08 and 07 will include the Bibby deal as well as the Kidd deal if it goes through. |

New NBA Live 08 Official Roster Released |

EA Sports have released another downloadable roster update for the Xbox 360 version of NBA Live 08. The new rosters are still missing a couple of players (Jamario Moon remains a noteworthy omission) but the rosters include the latest blockbuster trades, with the exception of the Jason Kidd deal which is still in limbo. The rosters also include updated lineups for the East and West All-Stars as well as the Rookie and Sophomore teams.
I'll have my unofficial update for NBA Live 07 out this weekend, as well as a couple of quick updates for both 07 and 08 after the All-Star Weekend and then another update after the trade deadline. I expect to resume regular updates after that. |

Kidd Trade in Limbo |

As many of you have probably seen by now, the Nets/Mavericks trade involving Jason Kidd has taken an interesting turn as Devean George has used a clause in his contract to prevent the deal from being finalised. The trade has been agreed to in principle by both teams but cannot be completed as long as George vetoes the deal by virtue of his "early Bird" rights. Join in the discussion here. |

There is a new free update on the Xbox Live Marketplace. It includes an All-Star Court update as well as four sets of jerseys: the real Home and Away jerseys for the All-Star game this weekend, and also a fictional Home and Away Hornets jersey. For some reason these Hornets jerseys are only available for the All-Star teams and not the Hornets themselves...

Cleveland Cavaliers Court Patch v1.1 |

I've made a update (v1.1) for the Cleveland Cavaliers court. Hopefully it'll fix the issues with the dissapearing logo on the older versions of NBA Live, the texture error on the seats, as well as a small fix with the wood texture.

The Heat/Suns trade is now official, with Shaquille O'Neal heading back to the West in exchange for Shawn Marion and Marcus Banks. You can join the discussion of the trade here.

It appears as though another blockbuster is in the works as a trade between the Suns and Heat is apparently close to completion. The deal will send Shaquille O'Neal to Phoenix in exchange for Shawn Marion and Marcus Banks and is reportedly complete pending O'Neal passing a physical. It was a close race, but Kobe Bryant edged out LeBron James in our previous poll which asked for your early prediction for the 2008 regular season MVP award, a view shared by Yahoo! Sports Adrian Wojnarowski. Kevin Garnett finished third in the poll despite taking an early lead.

It was announced today that the Los Angeles Lakers have acquired Pau Gasol from the Memphis Grizzlies in exchange for Kwame Brown, Javaris Crittenton, Aaron McKie, the draft rights to Pau's brother Marc Gasol, a first round pick in 2008 and a second pick in 2010. NBA All-Star Reserves Announced |

The NBA has announced the reserves who will participate in the 2008 All-Star Game in New Orleans on February 18th. The hometown team will have two representatives on the West squad with Chris Paul and David West earning their first All-Star appearance. They will be joined by another first timer in Brandon Roy as well as Carlos Boozer, Dirk Nowitzki, Steve Nash and Amare Stoudemire. The East reserves will be Chauncey Billups, Richard Hamilton, Chris Bosh, Caron Butler, Antawn Jamison, Joe Johnson and Paul Pierce.
