Celtics to meet Lakers in NBA Finals |

For the first time in over two decades the Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Lakers will lock horns in the NBA Finals, making it the eleventh time the NBA's two winningest franchises have squared off for the championship. One of the most significant rivalries in league history, the matchup also inspired the title of EA Sports' first NBA game, Lakers vs Celtics, which began a franchise that would ultimately become the NBA Live series.

Live Files - Free Patch Hosting |

I've just been told of a new website dedicated to providing free hosting for NBA Live patchmakers called Live Files, which you can check out here. The site enforces a 99 MB file size limit and files are deleted after 30 days of inactivity. Anyone seeking an alternative to Filefront and similar hosting services should give them a look. |

NBA Live PC Section Launched |

We have launched a new section in the NLSC Forum dedicated to the NBA Live PC project for NBA Live 06. It will serve as both a support and development forum for the project, acting as a central hub for both announcements, recruitment/contributions and community feedback. As JaoSming explained upon announcing the initiative, this is a community-based project rather than a team-based project so if you feel like being a part of it, you can jump in at any time.
A FAQ explaining the goals and other aspects of NBA Live PC has been posted and can be found here. I've also posted some information on my involvement with the NBA Live PC rosters which you can check out here. For NBA Live 07 and 08 users, please note that I am not discontinuing my updates for those games at this time but will rather work out a rotation for future releases. |

NBA Dynasty Ballers is a new sim league which uses NBA Live 07 and they are currently recruiting dedicated GMs. Plenty of teams are still available so if you're interested, check them out ASAP to claim the team of your choice. |

I've just finished a patch for the Los Angeles Lakers (Staples Center).
Let me know what you think (I know there's a lot of Lakers fans, most of which probably knows the court/arena a lot better than me).. That goes for all my patches, by the way..

With 52% of the vote, LeBron James was picked as the most likely player to grace the cover of NBA Live 09. 23% of voters selected "Other" with Kobe Bryant being the most popular suggestion. Deron Williams was the third most popular pick with 11% of the vote.
Now that the second round is over, the final four have emerged in the NBA Playoffs. Our new poll asks which NBA Finals matchup you'd most like to see. Cast your vote now! |

A new season is beginning over at the NBA Live Competition League and a few teams have become available. The NLCL is a non-modem league, if you think you'd like to take part then check out their website for league rules and signup details. |

-Latin Night jerseys
-Regular version of the current jerseys (without the 60th Anniversary logo)

In this instalment Brian answers questions on playbooks, Go To Moves and Quick Strike Ballhandling as well as touching on bringing back the approach of correctly timing the release of the shoot button on jumpshots and the addition of more signature dunks. |

2008 All-Star Court & Arena Patch |

I've finally finished my 2008 NBA All-Star Court & Arena Patch. But better late than never ey?
Note that this does not update the 3pt Shootout or Dunk Contest court. I'll release a patch for those later. Also, the download includes a updated 3D crowd texture that will darken the crowd near the court. If you want to use it, rename the file called 'allstar crowd3d.fsh' to just 'crowd3d.fsh'

NLSC Forum Technical Issues |

As many of you are no doubt aware, we have been experiencing some on-again, off-again technical problems with the NLSC Forum for some time now. Previous attempts to fix the problems have been unsuccessful so we are still in the process of troubleshooting in an effort to find a permanent solution. Unfortunately, a few issues arose today due to those troubleshooting efforts but those functions have since been restored.
I apologise for the inconvenience, these issues are as frustrating for me as anyone else as I not only enjoy partaking in the Forum but also want to provide a working service for all of you. I appreciate your patience and understanding during the troubleshooting process, happier times surely lie ahead. |

Despite the community's long standing preference towards the PC version of NBA Live, 41% of voters in our last poll stated that they would buy NBA Live 09 on another platform while 28% indicated they would not be buying the game and the other 31% are electing to wait and see what this year's game has to offer.
Following up on Pastapadre's article, our new poll asks your opinion on who will be the cover player for NBA Live 09; Pasta's top three choices (Deron Williams, LeBron James and Chris Bosh), March Madness 08 cover player and Rookie of the Year Kevin Durant, or someone else altogether. Don't forget you can share your thoughts here in the NLSC Forum. |

Some of our longtime visitors may remember Cloud Nin9's patches for NBA Live 2003 from a few years back. The website has recently been relaunched here featuring NBA Live 2003 updates as well as some NBA coverage. Anyone still playing NBA Live 2003 should check it out, the possibility of future updates for NBA Live 07 has also been mentioned. |
