NBA Live 08 & 07 Roster Update News |

The NBA Live 08 and NBA Live 07 roster updates have progressed to the point where they are very close to being released. While I will still be using generic placeholder faces whenever necessary, I would like to include a few more faces for the new rookies before I release both updates. If you'd like to contribute face patches for the roster, they would be most gratefully received and you will of course receive credit for your contributions.

Demo confirmed for second week of September? |

It would appear that the NBA Live 09 demo will be made available in the second week of September, according to a post over on Operation Sports. As new downloadable content is usually released on a Thursday, this seems to suggest a September 11th release for the NBA Live 09 demo. Thanks to our own JaoSming for the find. |

A new NBA Live 09 gameplay video taken from Microsoft's X08 event has been posted on YouTube and features just under five minutes of footage of a game between Toronto and Oklahoma City. You can check out the video below, thanks to Cool2Fool for the heads up.

With the NBA Live 09 demo on the horizon and the release coming a month after that, it's time for a new poll. Which NBA Live 09 feature are you most looking forward to? Cast your vote now!
Our last poll asked your opinion of the NBA Finals and it seems 63% of voters enjoyed the clash between the Celtics and the Lakers with 39% going so far as to call it great. However, 24% were less enthused about this year's championship series with 19% of voters describing it as disappointing. |

Update on the NLSC Roster Patches |

Work is progressing on the NLSC roster patches for NBA Live 06, 07 and 08. Thanks to an excellent tip from Spree#8, I'll be able to streamline the NBA Live 07 and NBA Live 08 updates and basically cut the workload in half. Right now I'm still in need of some face patches though, if you'd like to lend a hand please check out this thread.
I'm also exploring the option of simply converting the NBA Live 08 roster for use with NBA Live 06 as part of the NBA Live PC project but I'd like to make sure there aren't going to be any major issues before I abandon the roster I've been working on from scratch. I've uploaded a beta converted roster and require some testers to make sure it's going to work properly. More info here.
I still can't set a specific date but I intend to have the updates done in time for the 2008/2009 NBA season and these developments should help me complete the updates much sooner. |

We recently had the opportunity to ask NBA Live 09 Line Producer Brian Ullrich a few questions about this year's game. Amongst the issues discussed are defense, simulated Dynasty stats, NBA Live 365 updates and Player DNA. A demo has also been confirmed for early September for both the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.

Updated Impressions & European Release Date |

IGN have posted some updated impressions of Player DNA and Signature Playcalling, which you can check out here. The article also mentions an October 3rd release date for the Europe as opposed to an October 7th release in the United States and Canada. |

GameSpot have posted an "On The Spot" video featuring various EA titles that were on display at the EA Studio Showcase, including NBA Live 09. NBA Live 09 Platform Information |

A few people have been posting links they feel are proof that there will be a PC version of NBA Live 09, so I feel I must reiterate that EA Sports have repeatedly confirmed that NBA Live 09 will unfortunately not be coming out for the PC, however Peter Moore recently indicated that a return next year is likely for NBA Live and Madden.
The links that have been posted are most likely oversights or simply outdated pre-made resource pages that remain uncorrected. A good example is IGN's section for a PC version of NBA Live 2002, a release that certainly does not exist. |

2008 Draftees Ratings |

Just to update everyone, I am still working on the roster updates for NBA Live 08, 07 and 06. I still cannot set dates for their release but I am working hard to get them out as soon as possible. The post Draft update is one of the most tedious and time consuming but I'm certainly making progress and will do my best not to keep everyone waiting too much longer.
In the meantime, I've finished creating this year's sixty draftees and have completed a first pass through their ratings. I've decided to post a spreadsheet with their ratings so that I can get your feedback and any corrections for players who should be left handed (I've already noticed a couple) before the rosters actually come out. If any other roster patchers would like to use any of these ratings as a base, please feel free to do so.
Rookie Ratings
Please note that I'm looking for honest, constructive and intelligent feedback here on all ratings, not just the overalls. I can also do without the childish "lol omg these ratings suck" nonsense; if you see something that doesn't look right, by all means point it out and suggest new ratings but please do it without the attitude. Thanks. |
