Here is a round-up of the latest release dates for NBA Live 10:

US/Canada: October 6th (Confirmed)
UK/Europe: October 8th (9th also listed)
Australia/NZ: October 8th
Japan: November 5th

Please note that international release dates are probable but are still subject to confirmation. A release date of October 1st has also been listed for Australia but this is very likely an error based on an early report of a September 28th release in the US. If you come across any dates, please feel free to post them in this thread. You can also join in the jersey number countdown to the North American release here.

In lieu of being able to change the starting year in Dynasty Mode, I've released some fixes for the NLSC current roster updates which will modify the birthdates for all players so that they will be the correct age upon starting a new Dynasty game. Please note that this will result in an incorrect year of birth for every player in the game; as such, a second file is included with the fix that will restore the original birthdates should you change your mind and want to go back to the correct date of birth data. Download the appropriate fix for your version of NBA Live below.

Mike Wang has posted a new blog over on EASports.com which talks about passing in NBA Live 10 and also includes a video tutorial of the new control mechanics in this year's game; check it out here. Of note, the blog touches upon improvements to directional passing as well as giving a brief rundown of the new Direct Pass Receiver Control and Freestyle Passing features. Following up on my post from yesterday, I have received confirmation that the final, complete version of the official NBA Live 10 Fact Sheet is yet to be released. This certainly continues to hint at some features that remain under wraps for the moment. For those who may have missed it, IGN's NBA Live 10 Preview has confirmed a release date of September 10th for the NBA Live 10 demo, for both the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. Based on the early demo impressions, it would appear that we will be able to play as either the Lakers or Magic for one half of gameplay, with four minute quarters.

Operation Sports have posted a Q&A with the NBA Live 10 Dev Team which covers some gameplay elements as well as visuals. It touches upon improvements to fast break logic, passing and post play as well as confirming the return of Go To Moves and a few other points of interest. Work has progressed nicely on the roster updates as I've been able to find some more time in the past week in which to get things done. As of today, I'm targeting a release within a week or so for NBA Live 2005 through NBA Live 08. If circumstances change I will definitely keep everyone informed but I've reached a point where it should not be too much longer before I can put out stable releases.

The update for NBA Live 08 is all but finished, with only some doublechecking to be done (and of course, any transactions that occur between now and the day the rosters come out). Therefore, I've been able to begin the process of converting the rosters for use with NBA Live 2005-07. I expect the process to go fairly smoothly which is why I'd rather hold back on releasing the 08 update until they're all finished so I can doublecheck and test all the updates as necessary and release them all at once with the same up to date lineups (as of the day they come out). I will then continue to release subsequent updates for each of the games alongside one another.

Various art updates are still needed, please see this thread for more information if you're willing and able to lend a hand. I'm also seeking feedback and corrections on left handed players in this thread.

GameTrailers have posted a new NBA Live 10 video, this time featuring producer Ryan Santos giving an overview of the authenticity in NBA Live 10 and the approach of "bringing back the culture of hoops". Check out the video here, add your thoughts here in the NLSC Forum.

For those interested in a rundown of the video before watching it, the concept of the Hangar is touched upon and its use as a practice facility before diving into the game is demonstrated. It also features comparisons with last year's player models, as well as another glance at the new shoes, retro/special jerseys and tattoos.

Aside from the confirmed release date of October 6th 2009 for the US and Canada, a few international release dates for NBA Live 10 have started to surface. Below is a list of the dates we have collected thus far.

North America: October 6th, 2009
Australia: October 12th, 2009
UK/Europe: October 16th, 2009
Japan: November 5th, 2009

Please note that all dates aside from the North American release should be treated as tentative for the moment. If you come across any other international release dates, either confirmation or corrections for the above dates or dates for other areas of the world, feel free to post them in this thread.

A few new blogs have been posted on EASports.com. The first, by Ryan Santos, features some side-by-side comparisons of player faces, body types, accessories and other details in NBA Live 09 and NBA Live 10. Check it out here.

The second blog is by Mike Wang and talks about dribble moves in NBA Live 10, including an explanation of the "size-up" moves. It also includes a couple of videos, one of which compares this year's dribbling moves to the ones found in NBA Live 09. You can check out that blog post here.

It's been a rough few months professionally for LeBron James. The embarrassment of being shown up by the Orlando Magic has been compounded by the controversy surrounding his quick exit after the game and subsequent deft avoidance of both the customary handshakes and the post-game press conference. That of course has been followed up by "Dunkgate", which ultimately proved to be much ado about nothing but still gave his critics - professional and amateur, fair-minded and hater alike - plenty of ammunition.

What have been worse, however, are the attempts at damage control.

One final NBA Live 10 note for today, producer Marcus Stephenson has posted a screenshot featuring Derrick Rose here in the Operation Sports forums. Feel free to add your thoughts on the screenshot here in our Forum.

Repeating a tidbit from the previous news post, Mike Wang confirmed that the NBA Live 10 demo would be out in early September. Traditionally the NBA Live demos have been released on Thursdays, which would place the third of September as the earliest likely release date. That is merely speculation however, we will certainly post the actual date once there is confirmation.

Another NBA Live 10 Producer has posted a blog entry on EASports.com. Jeff Antwi's entry details player movement and animations in NBA Live 10, acknowledging the shortcomings of player fluidity in previous versions of NBA Live and describing their approach to fixing it this year. Jeff has also included some videos showing off the new animations in different situations including the different dribbling animations for players of different sizes and positions. NBA Live 10 Producer Ryan Santos has posted a blog entry on EASports.com talking about the launch of the new Nike LeBron VII, as well as revealing a couple of screenshots of the shoe in the Cleveland Cavaliers colourway. A new poll is up, asking your reaction to the NBA Live 10 previews we've seen so far. Are you excited by the previews, cautiously optimistic or disappointed? Cast your vote now and head on over to the NBA Live 10 section of the NLSC Forum to have your say.

In our last poll, a vocal 35% said they would not be getting NBA Live 10. However, 58% of voters indicated that they would be getting the game with a slight majority of 26% favoured the Xbox 360 version, 23% intend to get the Playstation 3 version and a further 9% will be opting for the Playstation Portable version. The remaining 7% were undecided as of now.

We're now a little over two months away from the release of NBA Live 10, which is set to hit shelves on October 6th 2009. For those who are unaware, we have a Release Date Countdown thread in the NBA Live 10 section of the NLSC Forum where we count down to the release by posting pictures of players with jersey numbers corresponding to the number of days left to the release, one player per person, per day. I've finally been able to set aside some time to continue getting up to speed with the NLSC roster updates for NBA Live 2005-08 and am now at a point where I feel I can post a progress report to let everyone know just how far the rosters have come and how much is left to be done. Please note that at this time I still cannot set a specific date as there's a fair bit of work yet to do and in case other things get in the way as they did last week, I don't want to held to a date right now. As soon as I can give a feasible rough estimate or a tentative date, I'll be sure to keep everyone informed.

NBA Live 10 Producer Matt Lafreniere has posted a new blog over on Inside Sports titled Let's Talk Presentation which talks about...yes, you gussed it, presentation. The blog talks about the improvements to the in-game crowd (both in appearance, sound and reactions, unique chants, sound effects and PA speech, the way replays are handled (apparently they will be triggered at more appropriate times, ie. dead balls), storylines and cutscenes along with a couple of other notes.
