NBA Live 10 Countdown: The Home Stretch |
^ |
|
Posted by Andrew | Monday, September 28 2009, 1:03 am
We're less than ten days away from the release of NBA Live 10! As October 6th drawers nearer, join us in counting down the days by way of the jersey numbers of NBA players here in the NLSC Forum; feel free to join in the rest of the discussion in the NBA Live 10 section as well.
For those who may still be on the fence about getting the game, we will be sure to cover the release in detail and I can guarantee there'll be no shortage of reviews here or around the Internet. If you haven't already done so, check out the demos for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3; I would certainly advise playing on All-Star or Superstar difficulty as suggested by the producers, as anyone looking for a sim experience will find the easier difficulty levels a little unsatisfying in that regard. You can read more demo impressions or post your own here in the NLSC Forum. |

Top teams to use in NBA Live 10 |
^ |
|
Posted by Andrew | Thursday, September 24 2009, 6:33 pm
With the release of NBA Live 10 less than two weeks away, I felt it would be appropriate to take a look at some of the best teams to use in this year's game based on all the offseason moves, with last year's list included for comparison. While Dynamic Season will allow users to play along with the 2009/2010 season without being locked to a team, I can already see certain teams becoming favourites to select in Dynasty Mode and for online games. Below are my picks for the top ten teams to use in NBA Live 10, along with a few other teams you might find interesting. |

NBA Live 10 Aussie Release Date Update |
^ |
|
Posted by Andrew | Wednesday, September 23 2009, 11:00 am
It appears as though there is some good news for those of us in Australia who are awaiting the release of NBA Live 10. DVDOrchard.com.au have posted a release date of October 8th on their listing for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 versions. The Playstation Portable version of NBA Live 10 is currently listed as hitting Australian shelves on October 15th. Feel free to post any release dates that your local stores have given you here in the NLSC Forum.
While I don't have any further confirmation of the Australian release date, the 8th does seem likely given that NBA Live has been available in Aussie stores just a couple of days after the North American release in recent years. I would assume that the New Zealand release will be the same day. |

NLSC NBA Live 10 Online League & OTP |

|
Posted by Andrew | Wednesday, September 23 2009, 12:21 am
Once NBA Live 10 comes out, we'll be looking to set up an NLSC Online League as well as organising some Online Team Play club games and hopefully an NLSC Live Run Brotherhood. To that end, we'd like to invite you to express your interest in joining in the fun; we may also be on the lookout for a few people to help us keep them up and running.
To express your interest in an NLSC Online League, please see this thread. If you'd be interested in an NLSC OTP Club/Live Run Brotherhood, see this thread.
Remember to let us know whether you're an Xbox 360 or Playstation 3 user, hopefully we'll be able to cater to both platforms this year. |

Info on Dynamic DNA in NBA Live 10 |
^ |
|
Posted by Andrew | Tuesday, September 22 2009, 9:25 am
We've received the following info from EA Sports in regards to Dynamic DNA in NBA Live 10:
Dynamic DNA Updates and Dynamic Season will be connected by T-Mobile for free with an unlock code in every new copy of NBA LIVE 10. For users without an unlock code Dynamic DNA Updates and Dynamic Season will be available for $14.99 on PSN Store or 1200 points on XBL Marketplace.
In other words, it will be a similar situation to last year; if you buy the game new, access to the NBA Live 365 updates will be provided free of charge courtesy of T-Mobile and you will not have to worry about spending any extra money to get connected to the Dynamic DNA updates. However, if you buy the game used and you wish to make use of the daily updates, you'll need to purchase a subscription from the XBL Marketplace or PSN Store. |

NBA Live 10 Article @ WorthPlaying |

|
Posted by dragon@4Q | Monday, September 21 2009, 9:24 pm
WorthPlaying.com have posted a preview of NBA Live 10 along with nine new screenshots.
With a renewed focus on creating an authentic 5 on 5 basketball videogame experience, NBA Live 10 introduces a myriad of gameplay improvements to the long running franchise. Computer controlled players will now move and react like their real life counterparts with enhanced player A.I. (artificial intelligence), and authentic, team-specific playbooks. In addition, all new dribbling, passing and shooting systems now give users more control over individual players than ever before seen in the franchise. Gamers can now control every movement as they break down a defender on the perimeter, drive to the basket, and finish at the basket using their left or right hand. From dishing no look passes to releasing a step back shot early or late to avoid a block from a defender, NBA Live 10 lets you to create highlight reel plays on your terms.

NBA Live 10 Demo Impressions |
^ |
|
Posted by Andrew | Friday, September 18 2009, 7:24 pm
I've been letting myself get pretty hyped for the release of NBA Live 10, so it was with much excitement but also some trepidation that I fired up the demo upon downloading it last week. With the series in need of taking that next big step, the good things we've been hearing from the Dev Team, the video game media and community members that have had a chance to play the game early have been very encouraging. We won't be able to make a final ruling on NBA Live 10 until the full version is out but to me the demo has certainly kept alive the hope that this year's offering will deliver what it promises. |

Backdown Control in NBA Live 10 |
^ |
|
Posted by Andrew | Monday, September 14 2009, 10:45 pm
If you've had a chance to play the NBA Live 10 Demo, you may have noticed that there is no control for backing down; rather, post play is contextual and triggered by feathering the left stick to position a player on the block. Lead gameplay designer Mike Wang has brought up the possibility of adding a backdown control in an official update for the full version here in the Operation Sports forums and has also invited feedback on which button would be preferred for that function.
For those who may have missed it, the Dev Team have previously spoken about removing the skipping celebration animation after players score a basket as well as the possibility of removing dunks that appear unrealistic via an official update. In any case, it certainly appears there will be at least one official fix for NBA Live 10 coming out following its release; more info as it becomes available. |

Demo reveals some details on game modes |
^ |
|
Posted by Andrew | Saturday, September 12 2009, 1:31 am
Some pop-ups while shooting around in The Hangar in the NBA Live 10 demo have revealed some brief descriptions of some of the new game modes in NBA Live 10. Dynamic Season will apparently involve playing games daily or through NBA Rewind and then merging the data with real 2009/2010 season data, thus creating a "dynamic season". Further details and explanations are surely just around the corner.
adidas Live Run is an online mode that allows users to "form or join a brotherhood" and then compete against other squads online while selecting the NBA player of their choice before each game; seemingly an extension of Online Team Play with custom squads. As with Dynamic Season, I'm sure we can expect further details and explanations of the ins and outs of Live Run in the near future.
Finally, for anyone still wondering about a standalone Playoffs Mode, another pop-up box in the demo has confirmed its return in NBA Live 10. Discuss these game modes, the demo and more in the NBA Live 10 section of the NLSC Forum. |

NBA Live 10 Australian Release Date |
^ |
|
Posted by Andrew | Friday, September 11 2009, 11:56 am
Some news for my fellow Australians who are waiting for the release of NBA Live 10: contrary to previous reports, the Australian release date currently remains unknown, though my inquiries have given me a projected release of late October/early November. It should also be noted that the Australian release for NBA 2K10 is November 9th, so it's quite possible that NBA Live 10 will come out around the same time. As soon as I can track down a more definite date, I will be sure to post it.
The North American release of October 6th remains unchanged, as does the projected release date of October 8th for the UK and Europe. |

On his Twitter, producer Marcus Stephenson has alluded a possible delay in the release of NBA Live 10 owing to circumstances beyond EA Sports' control. This delay would see the demo being released for Xbox Live Gold members on the 11th rather than the 10th. The release for Xbox Live Silver members and Playstation 3 users is still slated for September 17th at this time. |

Posted by Andrew | Thursday, September 10 2009, 9:47 am
Xbox360Achievements.org has revealed the list of Xbox Live Achievements for NBA Live 10. There are 33 achievements for a total of 1000 points to be earned, check out the full list here in our Wiki.
Although it is still subject to confirmation I would assume that the trophies in the Playstation 3 version will be similar, if not identical. |

Dynamic Season in NBA Live 10 |

|
Posted by Andrew | Tuesday, September 08 2009, 7:21 pm
As you may have seen in the video that Ben posted earlier, it appears that NBA Live 10 producer Garreth Reeder has confirmed that Dynamic Season will involve playing a season alongside the real 2009/2010 NBA campaign. Presumably it will take advantage of Dynamic DNA though that is merely my speculation as further details on Dynamic Season remain unknown at this time. Share your thoughts on Dynamic Season here in the NLSC Forum. |

On the subject of fixing download links, please feel free to report any broken links as we'll be doing our best to weed out the old files that have gone missing and fix as many links as possible. We would also appreciate any help in tracking down missing files so that we may upload them to our server rather than relying on hosting services that remove files after a period of inactivity. So to that end, if you come across any broken links and can help us out by re-uploading the file, please get in touch with us. Remember, if we can't locate a copy of the file all we can do is remove it from the database. |
