I always find it interesting how NBA video games are able to alter my perceptions. There are often songs within the soundtracks that I end up liking, despite my best efforts not to, and the same thing can happen with NBA players. Kwame Brown Player of the Game in NBA 2K13's Creating a Legend

But instead, they chose Kwame Brown; the first player ever to be selected with the first overall pick directly out of high school.

He seemed like a solid pick. He won the Mr Georgia Basketball award, was Glynn Academy’s all-time leading rebounder and shot blocker, and was selected for the McDonalds All-American team in 2001. But as six teams in eleven seasons would find out, the expectations placed on Kwame far exceeded his talent. Indiscretions both on and off the court have marred his career and contributed to his label as one of the biggest draft busts the NBA has seen.

It’s the Commish up on the Soapbox. The subject is buying NBA 2K12 early through eBay and Craigslist. They say a sucker is born every minute, but the Commish isn’t one of them.

People are spending $100, $200 or more to get a copy of the game early. It’s bad enough they can’t wait until Tuesday, but some of them are spending that kind of cash for a game that won’t ship until the release date, if ever.
