College Hoops 2K12 Mod Updated for NBA 2K12

BehindShadows’ College Hoops 2K12 mod for NBA 2K12 PC received an update yesterday. New additions include multiple retro and alternate uniforms for several teams, floor and stadium updates for a few teams, and even some practice uniforms. An alternate roster was released as well, purging any leftover NBA uniforms from the database. There has also been an announcement for a second and final patch for the mod, which will focus on accurate collars and team colors.

You can download the mod for NBA 2K12 in our Downloads Database, and be sure to drop by the official release thread to say thanks.

Initial Version of NCAA 2K13 Released for NBA 2K13 PC!

After a few late nights, I’ve gotten some of the College Hoops 2K12 mod converted over to NBA 2K13 without overwriting any original files! Currently at version 0.1, the mod contains accurate home and away uniforms for all 30 teams, accurate floors for 14 teams, and a generic roster. While it isn’t much to look at right now, this is the earliest playable release for the NCAA mod of any year. Once the REDitor comes out, NLSC Contributor BehindShadows will be taking over and turning the NCAA 2K13 mod into the much more accurate College Hoops 2K13 mod!

If you are a patcher and interested in helping out, please get in contact with me in this Forum Thread. However, if you want to jump in and enjoy some college basketball along side your NBA 2K13, you can get the mod in the NLSC Download Database.

NBA Street 2K13 Mod Released!

As noted by Andrew’s daily roundup of new additions to our Download Database, I have released the first version my NBA Street mod for NBA 2K13. As always, I have ensured that no original files are overwritten, meaning you can play NBA Street 2K13 without interfering with existing patches, saves, or original files.

This was the most extensive first release I’ve done for a 2K street mod. The mod uses nine different street courts and 60 uniforms. Unlike last year where I made NBA Street Homecourt inspired uniforms, this year I simply replaced the shorts of the default home and away uniforms with each team’s practice shorts.

As always, this mod is continually updated throughout the year until NBA 2K14 is released, so be sure to check out my Release Thread for all future updates including new uniforms and courts. You can download NBA Street 2K13 v1 in the NLSC Download Database.

NBA 2K13 Modding Status

While the game itself is missing many of the hyped and advertised features, the PC community can rest easy knowing the game can still be modified fairly easily. The most used tool, the Mod Tool, is mostly compatible with 2K13’s iff files. It can decompress, import, and export from the files without issue, but does run into issues with Uniform and Cyberface files. Thankfully an alternative to the Mod Tool is able to edit those files properly.  You can read more on tool compatibility here.

Vl@d Zola Jr. has been hopping around the Forum providing updates on roster editing. Unfortunately the roster is a bit more encrypted than previous years, providing a major hurdle for hex editing, however Vl@d has figured parts of the roster out allowing him to edit some basic values.

I have been quite busy in the few hours I’ve had the game.  I went ahead and created the major patching resource which labels and identifies each subfile in popularly modded files. I also created my first batch of mods which can be found in this Forum thread. So far I’ve released an accurate Celtics court, watermark remover, NBA Live ability icons, updated crowd lighting, and a remover for the instant replay marker.

Be sure to check out the NBA 2K13 Releases Forum for all the community patches available, and if you’ve created something, be sure to add it to our Downloads Database.

NBA 2K13 Out Today

The wait for NBA 2K13 is over, as long as you’re in North America and not looking to get the PC version via digital download. Fans already have their hands on the game and after sinking their teeth into this year’s offering, have started posting their thoughts along with some videos. If you’ve got the game, we invite you to share your impressions and videos here in the NBA 2K13 section of the NLSC Forum. If you haven’t got the game yet, feel free to direct any questions to the folks who do in this thread. There’s plenty of discussion taking place right now, so get involved!

Now that the game is out, we’ve opened up the Patching Help & Requests, Releases & Previews and Tutorials subsections under the NBA 2K13 board. We’ve also added an NBA 2K13 section to our Downloads database, which includes a few new categories this year which we hope will make it easier to sort and find all the amazing updates that our community creates. For modders who’d like to get started straight away, JaoSming has already posted a resource containing information on tool compatibility between NBA 2K12 and NBA 2K13.

BiggD’s Roster for NBA Live 10 Updated

With permission, I updated BiggD’s fantastic roster update for the Xbox 360 version of NBA Live 10. It is pretty accurate, with the Dwight Howard trade and other major moves accounted for as of yesterday. Please note that I did not add any extra rookies, as there are plenty missing, but overall the roster gets the job done. After talking with BiggD about it, he does have a roster ready to go, but is mulling over releasing it until later, so this should hold you over until a better roster is released by him.

To get the roster, you need to add me on Xbox Live, Gamertag JaoSming, and download the roster from my EA Locker. Please remove me as a friend after you download it so others can download the roster without me removing people from my friends list. You can see the direct process on how to download the roster below, as well as a full game playthrough of the updated Heat and Lakers starters going at it (while I rant in a sick voice about Live 13 and other topics).

Feel free to give feedback in the comments below and in this Forum thread, and remember to thank BiggD for this amazing roster for a three year old game with no external editor!

NBA Live 2004 ’12-’13 Update Released

After searching the Internet for a few days, I came across a Chinese website that combined many of the previous update mods for NBA Live 2004 into various downloads over the past couple seasons. With their latest roster accurate as of July, I downloaded their works, updated the roster through August, created some basic Brooklyn Nets artwork, and then combined everything into a single download.

I also included my controller configs which support the Xbox 360 controller and high graphic setting workarounds.  Here is a full game preview video I did last week.

You can download this complete update in the NLSC Downloads database, and please, provide feedback, contributions, and support in this Forum thread.

NBA Live Headshape & Hair Editing Video Tutorial

Killer Crossover aka OG has re-posted his video tutorial for editing headshape and hair files using Ebodit. The tutorial was originally created for NBA Live 07 but is also applicable to NBA Live 08, as the file formats are exactly the same. Anyone working with NBA Live 2005 and NBA Live 06 might be able to get some use out of it as well.

You can download the tutorial here in our database. If you have any further questions, please feel free to post them in this thread in the NBA Live 08 Tutorials section of the Forum.

NBA 2K12 Blacktop Revitalization for Xbox 360 & PC

I’ve released the NBA 2K12 version of my annual Blacktop Revitalization Mod, which makes Blacktop Mode a bit more fun to play. This year, I took the players from the console’s Legends Showcase DLC and put them on teams based on their abilities and whether or not they are current or legendary players.

Also, I threw in some D-League generic players to beat up on with these superstars. Below, you can watch my video overview of the Xbox 360 version of the roster.

The only difference between the two mods are the courts the players play on, since the Xbox 360 version cannot have custom courts, but does have the Times Square court from the DLC. The PC version includes the four courts I created for the NBA Street Mod this year.

You can download the Xbox 360 version through 2K Share by searching for my Gamertag, JaoSming, or the file’s name, Blacktop Roster. Or, you can download the USB Version, and the PC Version, in the NLSC Downloads Database.

Create a great 2012/2013 roster using Roster Merge & REDitor

We’re all excited for the new season of the NBA coming up, and we’re all following the progress of our teams and sharing the excitement of the new arrivals. And we also can’t wait. That’s why HAWK23’s Ultimate Base Roster hit a big spike when it became the first roster with complete 2012-2013 rookies in their proper teams. Only problem with that is that UBR only works in 82-games Associations and Seasons. Shorter schedules and MyPlayer don’t work at all. Also, Albys is renowned for his current roster, and he just brought us his final 2011-2012 roster, v6.  And as if that wasn’t enough, Nick completed v3 of his 2012 Draft Class, giving us the most complete and detailed rookies up to this point.

So, obviously, you’d love to have all that in one roster that works in every mode, right? Well, you can!

Visit our Forum to read my new guide on how to combine UBR, Albys’ roster and Nick’s draft class into a great 2012/2013 roster.

How to use NBA Stats Tracker with NBA 2K12

After quite some time, I decided to finally put up a video tutorial on how to use NBA Stats Tracker along with REditor and NBA 2K12 in order to not only fix your Team Stats, but also use all of NST’s analysis features on your career and keep track of how your team’s doing, scout your opponents, and get all the statistics and analytics that NBA 2K12 doesn’t give you.

During this video, you’ll see the exact steps you need to follow to setup your NST database, and what to do for each game of your career. You’ll also see all the features of NST at work, such as Metric Stats for the Box Score, Best Performers, as well as all the information of your team’s players you’ll be able to keep track of.

Remember to visit the tool’s thread if you have any questions, and to find out more.

On a final note, I really think NBA Stats Tracker, besides everything else, is also a really great tool for Dynasty story-telling, due to the automated detection of box scores and all the manual stat writing it will help you avoid. Also, you’ll be able to limit the stats features to a specific timeframe and check out how your players, team and opponents were doing between any two dates. I think that if you watch the two videos I’ve put up in my channel, the feature tour and this tutorial, you’ll think of even more ways to use NBA Stats Tracker to enhance your dynasty story.

NBA Stats Tracker is now fully compatible with NBA 2K12

Excuse the shameless plugging, and let me clear my throat. -coughs- Ahem. With that out of the way let me go in bold, saying…

NBA Stats Tracker is finally fully compatible with any NBA 2K12 save!

Some of you may be saying, “er… okay. And? Wait, what the hell is NBA Stats Tracker anyway?” Good question. NBA Stats Tracker is a tool (made by me, Leftos), that started off as a workaround for the Team Stats bug in NBA 2K12. Team Stats would register incorrectly after each game you played in Association/Season/My Player, which would ruin the immersion for those paying attention to the team stats table in NBA.COM, or in the stat overlays in-game. However, due to my limited reverse engineering knowledge and experience (it’s not like Visual Concepts is going to give us maps around its save files anytime soon), the tool required work to get it to work with any save; a 20-step tutorial you had to get out of the way before your first game in order to use the tool. I was disappointed, and gave up.

But Vl@d Zola Jr. came to help, and the latest version of REditor implemented Team Stats, so now by using these 2 tools together, you can correct your team stats! Yay…? Click on Read More to find out what’s exciting about all this.
