NBA 2K13 Nike Innovation Kitchen Video

NBA 2K13 - Steve Nash

2K Sports have released a short new video spotlighting the Nike Innovation Kitchen in NBA 2K13, demonstrating the ability to create your own signature Nike shoes and have your MyPLAYER wear them in this year’s game. It gives a quick overview of some of the options that are available while creating your custom shoe, as well as some of the in-game advertising that goes along with it, with the tagline of “Legacies are made in the kitchen”.

Watch it below or check it out here on our YouTube channel if you can’t see the embedded video. What do you think of the feature? If you’re playing a MyCAREER game, have you been able to design your own custom Nikes for your MyPLAYER yet? Let us know and give us your impressions in the comments below, and join in more NBA 2K13 discussion here in the NLSC Forum.

December 8th Official Roster for NBA 2K13 Now Available

NBA 2K13 - Brandon Jennings

2K Sports have pushed through another official roster update for NBA 2K13, with lineups updated through December 8th, 2012. The update is available for the PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii U versions of the game, and will come through automatically as long as your computer or console is connected to the Internet. PC users may also opt to download our manual update pack, which is available here.

Please note that the PC version does not include the textures for the Christmas jerseys or the Heat’s White Hot alternates, however entries for them have been added to the roster which means modders can create updates for those jerseys without having to overwrite any of the existing uniforms. A few players are still missing in the latest roster, but it does include updated injury status for several players while making further ratings changes. You can check out an overview of the latest update, along with a video rundown, here over on Operation Sports.

Update on Official Rosters for NBA 2K13 PC

NBA 2K13 - Knicks vs Heat

2K Sports’s Chris “LD2k” Manning responded to our inquiry regarding future official roster updates for the PC version of NBA 2K13, with the latest word being that updates for the PC should be resuming with the next roster update that is pushed through (whenever that may be). While JaoSming’s earlier inquiries suggest that the PC updates will not be getting textures for the newly added jerseys, having the new roster updates will at least add entries for the new jerseys, which our community can then utilise when creating jersey updates.

While this means we won’t be getting the roster that came out yesterday, it at least appears as though the PC version hasn’t been forgotten completely. When the official updates do resume, I will of course be updating our manual update pack but until then, be sure to check out the NBA 2K13 Rosters section in our Downloads database and the NBA 2K13 Releases & Previews section of the NLSC Forum for the latest community-made current roster updates.

December 5th Official Roster Update for NBA 2K13 Released

NBA 2K13 - Nets vs Knicks

New official rosters for NBA 2K13 have now gone live for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of the game, containing lineups that have been updated through December 5th, 2012. As always, the new rosters will come through automatically as long as your console is connected to the Internet. Operation Sports has posted a full list of changes in the latest roster, along with a list of changes that still need to be made, which you can view here. You can also check out their video rundown of the latest rosters here on YouTube.

Once again, it appears as though the PC version has missed out on the roster update entirely, or at least it has not been pushed through for the PC version as yet. This is obviously disappointing, but hopefully the updates will resume for the PC version soon. We’ll do our best to keep everyone informed as 2K Sports makes more information available.

NLSC Podcast – Episode #9

NLSC Podcast Logo

The ninth episode of the NLSC Podcast is out now! Leftos and I are your hosts once again and despite anticipating a shorter episode with fewer topics to discuss, we ended up recording our longest episode to date, as we discussed the latest NBA 2K13 news, the future of the NBA Live series once again and our thoughts on the latest happenings in the real NBA. Topics include:

  • The official patch v1.02 is out for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of NBA 2K13; what is the reaction?
  • What do we think of the laundry list of fixes outlined in the patch notes?
  • We speculate briefly on when the patch might come out for the PC version
  • The latest news from the modding community for both NBA 2K and NBA Live is also discussed
  • A disgruntled former Madden developer has let loose on Twitter, prompting a little discussion
  • The aforementioned Twitter rant also contained a couple of NBA Live tidbits, so we once again discuss the future of the series
  • We discuss the controversy between the Spurs and the league last week, and declare whether we’re on Team Stern or Team Popovich
  • A few other NBA related topics are pondered and commented upon

We hope you enjoy the show as much we enjoyed recording it! Feel free to leave your thoughts in the comments below, as well as in this thread in the NLSC Hub.

Next Official Roster for NBA 2K13 Coming Tomorrow

NBA 2K13 - LeBron James

According to a Tweet by the NBA 2K Insider, the next official roster update for NBA 2K13 will be coming out tomorrow. It will apparently contain various ratings adjustments, add more missing players and include the Miami Heat’s White Hot alternate jersey that made its debut this season.

It remains to be seen whether the PC version receives this update after we missed out on the November 17th release but assuming it does, the new rosters will come through as long as your PC, Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 is connected to the Internet. Even if the PC version does receive the update there’s no guarantee that it will include the texture for the Heat’s new alternate jersey, but in any event I’ll be updating our manual update pack with whatever comes through.

Andrew’s NBA 2K13 PC Review

NBA 2K13 - Derrick Rose

NBA 2K13 has been out for almost two months at this point, giving me more than ample time to get my hands on the game and check out everything it has to offer. As such, I feel I can finally offer a full, detailed review that touches upon the things that an enthusiastic basketball video game fan would want to know about this year’s offering from 2K Sports, for the PC platform.

2K found themselves without competition once again following the cancellation of NBA Live 13, but it was clear from the outset that they wouldn’t be phoning it in. Last season’s lockout proved to be something of a hindrance to NBA 2K12 despite its impressive historical content, but fortunately for all of us, that wasn’t an issue this year. With the NBA back to business as usual and the opportunity to hit the ground running, how is NBA 2K13 PC looking after a couple of months? Read on to find out.
