NBA Live 13 Rosters (Xbox 360) (Updated to v2.0)
Online support may have ended for NBA Live 10 back in January of this year, but there are still folks playing and even updating the game. Today we have a new file addition for the Xbox 360 version of NBA Live 10, namely a 2012/2013 current roster update that can be transferred via USB. Check it out at the link below!
NBA Live 13 Rosters (Xbox 360)
As previously announced, EA Sports’ online support for NBA Live 10 and the 2010 disc-based reboot of NBA Jam has ended as of today. The games can no longer be played online and features such as the EA Locker and screenshot/replay uploads in NBA Live 10 are no longer available. As such, if you want media from the game for a story thread or any other purpose, you’ll need to use a capture card or in a pinch, take shots and videos of your screen. This also marks the end of easily sharing custom rosters with other users.
EA made this decision due to the number of gamers still making use of the servers for these games, which has dwindled considerably. NBA Live 10 had been supported since 2009 and received Dynamic DNA updates for an additional season in the wake of NBA Elite 11’s cancellation, while NBA Jam has since been succeeded by NBA Jam: On Fire Edition. To mark the end of an era, our own JaoSming played one final online game of NBA Live 10 while offering some final thoughts on the game. Watch the video below or check it out here on his YouTube channel.
The NLSC Podcast is back with episode number twelve! Leftos and I are your hosts once again and after a brief catch-up following the holiday season, we get down to discussing the latest news and rumours surrounding NBA Live and NBA 2K, some community news and notes and the latest goings on in the real NBA. A quick overview of Episode #12 is as follows:
- We’re back! We both had a nice holiday break, we hope you did too.
- Arcane has stepped down from the NLSC Team and his post as a moderator on the official forums; we thank him for his contributions and wish him well.
- Leftos provides an update on his latest tools for NBA 2K13 and the Stats Tracker for NBA 2K12.
- NBA 2K13 received two new rosters last week, opinion is still generally lukewarm at best.
- EA Sports are ending online support for NBA Live 10 and the 2010 reboot of NBA Jam. We ponder whether it means anything for NBA Live 14 and once again speculate a little on the next game.
- We move on to this week’s feature discussion, the Royce White saga in Houston.
- A few other NBA related topics are discussed.
- I close the show by forgetting our Twitter handle. (Hey, it’s not like I maintain it or anything…)

We’re glad to be back and looking forward to continuing to bring you a new episode each week throughout 2013. We hope you enjoy the latest episode, please feel free to add your comments below or in this thread in the Forum. You can also continue to discuss the situation with Royce White here in our NBA & Basketball Talk section.
As JaoSming noted here in the NLSC Forum, a recent service update from EA Sports has confirmed that their online support for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of NBA Live 10 and the 2010 reboot of NBA Jam will cease as of January 11th, 2013. Online support for NBA Jam: On Fire Edition will continue until further notice.
Online support for NBA Live 10 has run a little longer than usual, as a result of the extended hiatus the series has been on since 2010. The game also received Dynamic DNA updates through the 2010/2011 season, following the cancellation of NBA Elite 11.
While the decision to shut down online services is the result of declined usage weighed up against the cost and effort required to maintain the servers, it’ll be interesting to see whether the shutdown of online support for NBA Live 10 is being done, at least in part, in anticipation of a release later this year. While Andrew Wilson made reference to “next year’s game” when announcing the cancellation of NBA Live 13 and EA Sports does still have the NBA license with a view to making more NBA games, an NBA Live 14 has not yet been officially confirmed or announced.
With permission, I updated BiggD’s fantastic roster update for the Xbox 360 version of NBA Live 10. It is pretty accurate, with the Dwight Howard trade and other major moves accounted for as of yesterday. Please note that I did not add any extra rookies, as there are plenty missing, but overall the roster gets the job done. After talking with BiggD about it, he does have a roster ready to go, but is mulling over releasing it until later, so this should hold you over until a better roster is released by him.
To get the roster, you need to add me on Xbox Live, Gamertag JaoSming, and download the roster from my EA Locker. Please remove me as a friend after you download it so others can download the roster without me removing people from my friends list. You can see the direct process on how to download the roster below, as well as a full game playthrough of the updated Heat and Lakers starters going at it (while I rant in a sick voice about Live 13 and other topics).
Feel free to give feedback in the comments below and in this Forum thread, and remember to thank BiggD for this amazing roster for a three year old game with no external editor!
Interestingly, the official NBA Live Facebook page joined in the weekly EA Sports Throwback Thursday festivities by featuring NBA Live 95, the game that tipped off the series. On the main EA Sports Facebook page, the NBA Live 10 cover was also featured in this week’s Throwback Thursday, in which the 2009 releases were highlighted.
While it may not mean anything, it would appear that EA Sports are still trying to keep everyone aware of the NBA Live brand, suggesting that long awaited news on NBA Live 13 may at last be finally around the corner. It’s also worth noting that the official Facebook page for the NHL series also featured several old covers in between news for NHL 13.
It was also speculated a few weeks back that the reveal of the NBA Live 13 cover might follow the posting of the NBA Live 10 cover on Throwback Thursdays, which would place the announcement sometime next week. However, the timeframe for the cover announcement and the unveiling of more news and preview media for NBA Live 13 remains unconfirmed at this time.
Feel free to speculate in the comments below, as well as in the NBA Live 13 section of the Forum. For those who’d like to dust off their old copies of NBA Live 95 for PC, you’ll find that it works perfectly in DOSBox. We’ve also still got a collection of old updates for the game here in our Downloads section, along with the NBA Live Vintage section of the Forum for all your old school discussion needs.
biggD has released a new version of his NBA Live 10 rosters project to reflect some of the changes that have occurred in the NBA since the Draft. He’s added some rookies to the game, as well as some of the player movement as of a few days ago. Rather than assuming each player is resigning with their former team, he also released a majority of the free agents this summer into the Free Agents pool, rather than keeping them on their teams. This makes it easier to update recent transactions without releasing a new version, such as Ray Allen signing with the Heat.
To get the rosters, you can add his Gamertag to your friends list, hoopheavenbris, or my own, JaoSming, to access our EA Lockers and save the roster to your Xbox 360. Be sure to check out his NLSC Forum thread, and his thread over at Operation Sports. I also recorded a quick video today showing how to access the EA Locker and some gameplay of his latest roster.
