NLSC Podcast – Episode #106

NLSC Podcast Logo

We’re back! A new season of the NLSC Podcast tips off with Episode #106, hosted by Arcane and myself. In this episode, we recap the news since the final show of 2014, and discuss some topics suggested by members of the community.

  • We open the show with a rundown of all the NBA Live 15 news since Episode #105, including the latest roster updates, the second title update, Ultimate Team content, and our giveaway.
  • The Android version of NBA Jam has received another roster update, along with new audio provided by Tim Kitzrow. Boom-shaka-laka!
  • NBA 2K15 news items include the third title update (now available everywhere), Arcane’s shoe glitch workaround, a new video from Da_Czar, and a complete guide to earning Badges.
  • Have we gotten into some NBA 2K15 modding yet?
  • Moving on to the real NBA, we discuss Kobe Bryant’s future, and whether he’ll accept a smaller role.
  • As we approach the halfway point of the NBA season, who are our top contenders? Can the Atlanta Hawks and Golden State Warriors stay on top?
  • Is LeBron James in decline, and can the Cleveland Cavaliers bounce back? We make our predictions.
  • We discuss the rumoured sale of the Atlanta Hawks, and the possibility that they could end up being the new Seattle Supersonics.
  • Cutting Josh Smith has worked out quite well for the Detroit Pistons (and not too bad for the Houston Rockets). The New York Knicks’ trade of J.R. Smith hasn’t had quite the same effect.
  • Mo Williams becomes the latest unexpected player to tally a 50+ point game.

NLSC Podcast Returns Next Week

NLSC Podcast Logo

We’ll be recording a new episode of the NLSC Podcast next week, for our first show of 2015. We originally intended to return this week, but I’ve been feeling a little under the weather with a cough and a sore throat, so we had to give it a miss. I’m on the mend however, and expect to be healthy (or healthy enough!) by the time we’re ready to record next week.

In the meantime, I’d like to invite you to submit any mailbag questions or topic suggestions for the next episode. We’d love to have more interaction with our listeners, and we want to make sure that we’re putting out a show that you enjoy listening to, and that we’re talking about stuff you’re interested in, so hit us up in this thread, or in the comments section below.

If you missed our most recent episode, you can tune in here. For those who are unaware, you can also subscribe to the NLSC Podcast on iTunes. A big thanks as always to everyone who regularly listens to the Podcast; we really do enjoy recording the show for you every week, so stay tuned for more fun!

  • NBA 2K15 modding continues to pick up steam.
  • Following on from this week’s Tuesday Triple, we once again discuss realism in basketball video games. What are our expectations, and are we altering our approach as the games change?

For the first time since Episode #37, Leftos is making an appearance on the NLSC Podcast! In his triumphant return to digital broadcasting, Leftos talks a little about what it’s like to be a developer on NBA 2K15, his first year at Visual Concepts, and offers some advice on how to break into the industry.

Leftos was also able to give us a great deal of information on MyGM and MyLEAGUE in NBA 2K15, expanding on some recent blogs and interviews, and letting us know about a few things that haven’t been talked about too much. In addition to explaining the basic features and differences between the two modes, Leftos gives us some in-depth insight into player progression and regression, the injury system, customisation options, and much, much more.

We were also able to get a lot of the community’s questions about MyGM and MyLEAGUE answered, so if you’re looking forward to those two modes in NBA 2K15, be sure to tune in to Episode #95!
