We’re way, way overdue for a new poll here on the main page, so I’ve just added one which asks “How long do you play basketball video games?” When you get a basketball video game, do you play it all season long, or do you burn out on it sooner? Cast your vote now, and if you have any additional thoughts you’d like to share about your habits when it comes to playing basketball video games, feel free to post them in the comments section below!

Our previous poll asked “How often do you win championships in basketball video games?” It seems most people are winning virtual championships fairly often, as 34% indicated they win every season they play, while a further 29% are winning in most of the seasons that they finish. 14% of voters win championships after a few seasons of rebuilding, 9% rarely win championships, and a final 14% said that they never finish seasons in basketball video games.

We’ve just posted a new poll, which asks: How often do you win championships in basketball video games?

Do you win the championship every time you play? Have you played through an entire season (ie every game, regardless of quarter length), only to come up short or even miss the Playoffs? Or do you have up and down years? Cast your vote, and discuss the topic in the comments section below, as well as in the NLSC Forum.

Our previous poll asked Who is your pick for MVP so far? Stephen Curry was most people’s pick, garnering 49% of the vote. James Harden and Anthony Davis were the next most popular choices at 14% and 12% respectively. 6% voted for Jimmy Butler, 5% picked Damian Lillard, 2% chose Blake Griffin, and 1% were in favour of LaMarcus Aldridge. 11% of voters felt that another player entirely is the leading candidate for this year’s MVP.

Now that NBA Live 15 and NBA 2K15 have been out for a little while, and gamers have either had a chance to pick them up and get stuck into playing them, or elected to go back and play an older game, we have a new multiple choice poll for you all: “Which Modes Are You Playing Right Now?” Cast your vote now, and feel free to talk about some of your recent basketball gaming experiences in the comments section below!

Our previous poll asked “Who’s your early pick to win the 2015 NBA Championship?” The defending champion San Antonio Spurs were the favourites with 23% of the vote, just edging out the Cleveland Cavaliers with 22%. The Chicago Bulls were the third most popular pick at 19%, followed by the Houston Rockets (8%), the Miami Heat (7%), and the Portland Trail Blazers (4%). A further 17% believe another team entirely will win it all this year.

New Poll: Early Pick for the 2015 NBA Champions

The 2014/2015 NBA season is under way! It’s obviously still early days, but now that the season has tipped off, who’s your early pick to win it all this year? Cast your vote in our new poll, and join in the discussion taking place in the NBA & Basketball Talk section of the NLSC Forum.

Our previous poll asked “Which mode would you most like to see return to NBA Live or NBA 2K?” It seems FIBA World Championship (or the FIBA World Cup, as it’s now called) is the mode basketball gamers are most interested in seeing make a comeback, as it garnered 47% of the vote. The NBA All-Star Weekend was a distant second with 25%, followed by Creating a Legend with 13%, and NBA’s Greatest with 11%. A further 4% indicated that there was another mode altogether that they’d like to see return.

It’s been a while, but we’ve posted a new site poll: “Which mode would you most like to see return to NBA Live or NBA 2K?” Cast your vote now, and feel free to discuss your thoughts in the comments section below, as well as in The Virtual Hardwood section of the Forum.

Our previous poll asked “How do you rate the 2013/2014 NBA season?” It seems that most people quite enjoyed last season, with 38% proclaiming it to be “Good”, while a further 37% went so far as to call it “Excellent”. 16% believed it was just alright, 5% felt it wasn’t great, and a final 4% didn’t enjoy the 2014 campaign at all, deeming it to be terrible. Congratulations to the San Antonio Spurs, the 2014 NBA Champions! The Spurs defeated the Miami Heat 104-87 to take the series 4-1. Kawhi Leonard was named the NBA Finals MVP, following a breakout performance in the series. The Finals proved a majority of voters in our last site poll correct, as 62% of you picked the Spurs to win.

It’s that time of the year again. The Eastern and Western Conference Champions have been decided, and for the second year in a row, it’s the Miami Heat and San Antonio Spurs meeting in the NBA Finals. Our previous poll asked How important is it to you that basketball video games feature historical content? Not surprisingly, most basketball gamers are very much in favour of historical content, as 39% said it was “vital” while a further 22% felt it was “very” important. 23% of voters felt that historical content is moderately important, 10% don’t feel that it’s very important, and a final 6% opined that it isn’t important at all.

It’s been a while since we updated our site poll, so today we’re posing a new question: How important is it to you that basketball video games feature historical content? Cast your vote now and feel free to post your thoughts on the matter in the comments below.

Our previous poll asked Are you getting a next gen console? Perhaps not surprisingly given our history as a PC modding community, 55% of voters indicated that they’d be sticking with the PC, at least for now. As far as the consoles are concerned, it seems that the PlayStation 4 is the most popular choice in our community as it garnered 26% of the vote, compared to only 8% for Xbox One. A further 3% of voters indicated that they would be getting both consoles, while a final 8% were undecided.

The PlayStation 4 has already sold over one million units following the North American launch on November 15th, while the Xbox One will be making its debut this coming Friday, November 22nd. Our last poll asked for your impressions of NBA 2K14 current gen. The response was mostly positive with 33% stating that they love NBA 2K14 on PC, Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3, while a further 31% feel it’s a good game. 22% weren’t so enthused however, deeming it just alright. 9% of voters do not feel that it’s a great game, while a final 5% went so far as to say they hate it.

It’s been a while since we added a new poll, so I’m remedying that today by asking an obvious question: “What is your opinion of NBA 2K14 so far?” Cast your vote now and don’t forget to give us your impressions so that we can read some of them out during this week’s NLSC Podcast. Our last poll asked “How do you rate the 2012/2013 NBA season?” It seems that a majority of fans did enjoy last season as 36% rated it as excellent, while a further 33% rated it as being good. 17% of voters weren’t all that impressed deeming the 2013 season just alright, “not great” garnered 7% of the vote and a further 7% didn’t enjoy it at all, opining that it was terrible. As we find ourselves a couple of weeks out from a new season, don’t forget that you can discuss the real NBA (as well as other professional and amateur basketball leagues) in the NBA & Basketball Talk section of the Forum.

With the Miami Heat winning their second straight championship, the 2012/2013 NBA season is now in the books. What are your thoughts on last season? How would you rate it? Our last poll asked the obvious question of who would win the 2013 NBA Championship. 46% of voters correctly predicted the Miami Heat to win it all, while a slight majority of 54% obviously picked the Spurs. Interestingly, our poll for last year’s NBA Finals yielded a very similar result, with only 45% of voters picking the Heat to win while the remaining 55% picked the Oklahoma City Thunder.

With the 2013 NBA Finals beginning in just a couple of days, our new poll asks the obvious question: “Who will be the 2013 NBA Champions?” Will the Miami Heat defend their crown, or will the San Antonio Spurs win their fifth title in as many Finals appearances? Our last poll asked “Which mode have you been playing most in NBA 2K13?” As it turns out, MyCAREER has been the most popular mode this year, garnering 50% of the vote. Association was the second most popular mode of choice with 25% of the vote, with a further 1% of voters preferring Online Association. 5% are mostly playing other online modes such as MyTEAM, 7% are sticking with NBA Today games and 3% favour Blacktop. A final 9% indicated that they aren’t playing NBA 2K13 at all.

As you may have noticed, we now have a new poll up which asks “Which mode have you been playing most in NBA 2K13?” Cast your vote now, feel free to leave a comment about your NBA 2K13 gaming habits and preferences in the comments below, and be sure to check out the NBA 2K13 section of the Forum for all the latest discussions and mod releases.

Our last poll asked “Do you mostly play or simulate games in modes like Dynasty, Association & MyCAREER?” 35% of voters indicated that they prefer to play all of the games, with a further 20% playing most of the games. 22% end up simming most of the games, while for 19% of voters it’s about 50/50 when it comes to playing and simming. A final 4% choose to sim all of the games in their chosen mode.

A new poll is now up, which asks “Do you mostly play or simulate games in modes like Dynasty, Association & MyCAREER?”. What are your simming habits when it comes to basketball video games? Do you only play important games while simming in between? Do you play most games but simulate the occasional matchup you find unappealing or believe you can win easily? Cast your vote now and feel free to tell us more in the comments below.

Our previous poll asked “How often do you play basketball video games?”. Not surprisingly, 38% of you indicated that you play them every day, while 29% of you are hitting the virtual hardwood on most days of the week. 19% are playing basketball video games two or three days a week, 9% set aside time for a weekly session of basketball gaming and a final 5% aren’t playing quite as often these days.

Our last poll asked “How do you rate NBA 2K13 so far?” and the results indicated a mostly positive reaction to this year’s game, with 39% deeming it excellent and a further 33% calling it good. 16% weren’t too impressed, opining that NBA 2K13 is just alright, 7% were even less enthused as they voted for “not great” and a final 5% indicated that they were completely disappointed in this year’s offering, giving their vote to “Terrible!”.
