This is Dumb Fact Monday, serving up random facts about basketball video games that you may or may not find interesting.
While I am talking about playing underneath the Moon in a basketball videogame, for once I am not talking about anything Street related. This may or may not have affected me, because this week’s Dumb Fact Monday has completely confused me. I have no idea why this is in the game or if it is even on purpose. After researching it, I don’t believe this is grounded in any sort of reality or included for accuracy purposes. So please share in my confusion.
Why there is an image of the Moon in the rafters of NBA Live 14’s Target Center?
That’s it, that is the Dumb Fact Monday, there is a Moon inside the Target Center in NBA Live 14. Something so minor, yet continues to eat at me for an explanation. After seeing it (and yes, Tweeting it), I did Google searches and even Getty Images searches to try and see if there was an actual image of the Moon in the Target Center. Nothing. So, accepting this as an Easter Egg and moving on like an adult…I proceeded to check my other NBA videogames.
Michael Bay Presents, NBA 2K14 PS4
Nothing, this only shows up in NBA Live 14 as far as I know. For now, I’ll just accept that it is a neat little Easter Egg in a game genre that doesn’t have many hidden secrets. I hope you enjoyed this week’s Dumb Fact Monday, please let me know if you have any information on this in the comments below or in the Forum Thread, thanks!
UPDATE: QBaller in the Forum Thread did find an image of the Moon inside the Target Center from 2011. So it did exist at one time, but I can’t seem to find any indication that it is there currently.
I saw a YouTube video of a guy from Minneapolis playing Live for the first time. He said he attends T-Wolves games all the time and that it was nice to see Live include the moon from the Taget Center in the game.
but, but, I spent hours searching, no images
I guess we just gotta chalk this up to EAccuracy
