General NLSC Questions

Are you an official site/affiliated with EA Sports?

No, we are an unofficial fansite dedicated to the NBA Live series. We are not affiliated with EA Sports in any way, we are simply fans of their work.

Are you involved in the production of the NBA Live series?

Strictly speaking, no. We are not members of the production team and do not have any control over the creation of each NBA Live title. However, we do submit an annual Wishlist to EA Sports with suggestions from the community.

Do you have to pay for any of the downloads or content on the NLSC?

Not at all; we provide everything free of charge.

Who are the individuals who work on the NLSC? How can I contact them?

A complete listing of the NLSC staff as well as their email addresses can be found here.

Who do I contact about a general site issue, such as a broken link, missing image, etc?

For most general site related questions and issues, get in touch with the webmaster, Andrew.

I have a question about a download.

Please consult the Downloads FAQ before sending us an email, you might find the answer much more quickly.

Why didn't you respond to my email?

There are a few possibilities:

  1. We haven't had a chance to respond yet. We're not online 24/7 and we're not all in the same timezones, so we can't always get back to you immediately.
  2. We tried to respond but were unable to send the reply. If your email requires a respone, please ensure that we can reply to a valid email address and that your inbox is not full.
  3. We simply didn't receive your email and thus were unaware that you tried to contact us. Please give us a little time to respond before sending another email though, we may not have responded due to the reasons above.
  4. Your question has been answered many times before and has been answered on the site in one of the FAQs. In most cases we'll reply with a link to the appropriate FAQ, but we do reserve the right not to reply to questions that are already answered in our FAQs.

NLSC Forum Questions

How do I register for the forum?

Simply click "Register" at the top of the forum and fill out the form.

Why haven't I received the activation notice?

The activation emails are sometimes treated as spam by junk mail filters. Hotmail and Yahoo! Mail seem to filter the activation notices quite frequently.

Why can't I log in to the forum?

Your account will need to be activated when you first sign up. Additionally, when you change your email address your account will become inactive. You will receive an email with a link to reactivate your account. If you do not receive this email, please contact the forum administrator.

Alternatively, you may not be able to log in due to forum maintenance or disciplinary action that has been taken against you in the forum.

Who are moderators and admins? Why are they telling me what to do?

Moderators are individuals who have volunteered their services in keeping order and upholding the forum rules. The administrator is in charge of the forum and acts as a head moderator. If you break a forum rule, you may be approached by a moderator or the admin with a request to adhere to the rules.

Frequent troublemakers may be subject to harsher punishments such as banning, suspension or deletion.

Can you appeal against moderator action?

Certainly - it is not our aim to bully you or boss you around. We are just trying to uphold the rules and make the forum a pleasant place for people to post. However, sometimes we make mistakes and act too quickly. In this instance, you may certainly raise concerns about how an issue was handled.

Please note that some action isn't really open to appeal. If you are clearly causing trouble in the forum and breaking several rules and you receive a warning, you have the right but not really the grounds to appeal. Also, please be civil when raising your concerns - outbursts of profanity and attacks on the moderators are not the appropriate way to appeal.

What is flaming?

Flaming can defined as directing personal attacks and insults towards other members of the forum, including moderators and the admin. Flaming is unacceptable and if you flame you will be asked to stop.

Please do not confuse flaming with heated discussion. Flaming involves off-topic insults and personal attacks directed at a fellow poster, while heated discussion is simply an in-depth discussion that is on-topic. Enthusiastic discussion is to be encouraged, but immature insults are not.
