The magic man is back. Although we've talked in private, I wanted to welcome you back for another year of REDitor greatness in here as well.

Hope this Tools guy helps you make this year's REDitor the best yet.

2k change how they listed the names, they place them seperately like in 2k9 & 2k10 roster files, his editor for 2k10 had it. for vlad it shouldn't be a problem he's the master.

if you look at the 2k9-2k12 roster files in hex, near the bottom of the file you see names, files, etc all listed together. The first REDitor called this section the "Bank of Names".
in 2k13, that section is encrypted. I can still edit it in the roster.iff, or with the cheat engine, but along with the non-byte aligned database it is the biggest hurdle of the year.
Opinions are my own.

Will not it be easier to just edit that roster.iff file? Then, the roster maker just need to open the game, reset the roster and save it.

it would be easier, but pretty useless in the grand scheme of things

Oh, OK. I'm nothing sure, but this may help. In NBA 2K12, there was a downloads.mnf file with all the online data. That file contained all the info about the downloads, and (IIRC) the name of the files were there, but encrypted with CRC32.

yep, leftos' keep my mod screwed with that

what I do, for bank of names hex edits, is grab the latest roster.iff from that downloads folder, copy it/decompress it, then read only the one remaining so the game doesnt use that folder anymore, make my edits, then put it in the main folder. reset roster, street mod!
Opinions are my own.

Welcome back Vlad 2k mods wouldn't be the same without ya!

Just wondering..

A) Is it possible to use Reditor in some way to be able to input a roster into a season (weather it's through copy & paste) so that I can do a season in line with the real one? I know that there is a start now feature but it would be nice if there was some way to update the roster during the season!

B) Will it be possible to be able to assign an arenas satdium music & camera angle to any arena. It's nit picky I know but you gotta have the old MSG with the organ!

Cheers!
