V-sync is the Vertical synchronization between the monitor refresh rate and vertical blanking in your monitor in order to prevent the tearing effect that can appear while you playing a game with a higher FPS then your monitor refresh rate.

Multisample AA is a FORM of "full screen anti-aliasing." Full screen anti-aliasing means AA that is performed on the entire screen - this can be done via supersampling, multisampling, or even hybrid modes that combine the two.

I fail to see how this is a patch preview or release...Those sliders have already been posted somewhere else.

This was more about having better graphics with your NVIDIA card. I just threw in the sliders!

Hey, why AA only on 4? I can put it on 16Q on my GF GTX 280.
Is it the best mix of your settings or can it be boosted even more?

Beyond 4, there's really not that much of a visual difference for AA...

Postby 100ka on Thu Nov 27, 2008 7:03 am

Hey all,

Is it possible that my CPU (AMD X2 6000) is too slow, cuz i cannot play with players set on ULTRA HIGH? My GPU is HD 4870X2 and i have 2 gigs of Kingston HyperX RAM on 800MHz
and my framerate is always 60fps with all other settings maxxed, including MSAA 8x. But when i set players on ultra high, fps drops heavily!

Any advice?

My drivers are up to date, OS is Vista Ultimate SP1, etc...

Please advise

Thx

Try to lower your MSAA maybe, your CPU seems good enough for "ultra high".

I have spent over one hour surfing the net for a solution and the only thing i could find is an advice for modifying CONFIG file (stall cpu on end frame and cloth logical thread values) which i already knew and tried and it doesn't work! I tried experimenting with graphic card settings but obviously it's not due to mu GPU speed, since it's one of the best on the market. So i am really really pissed! I was thinking of reinstalling the whole system since i recently installed my new graphic card and did not reinstall the operating system for a long time.
If anyone has any other advice, please help!

Also, i tried running the game with task manager in the background so that i can check my CPU usage. It didn't go over 52% so it makes me believe it's not cuz of the CPU either!!!

I am running out of ideas.... anyone?

Thx

for whatever reason this game on ultra high doesn't like AMD dual cores...

my cpu is about the same as yours and i have the same problem.

a friend of mine has an intel core2duo, the same amount of ram (2gigs) and vga as me (9800gtx) and he runs it smoothly on ultra high settings.
