New NBA Live '10 Blog: Rookie DNA |

NBA Live '10 producer Marcus Stephenson has posted a new blog over on Inside EA Sports talking about the DNA for rookies Blake Griffin, Hasheem Thabeet and Stephen Curry. For those unaware of the situation with likeness rights, it also contains a brief explanation as to why certain rookies cannot be included in the default rosters. Check it out here.
The blog also mentions that we're getting closer and closer to NBA Live '10 news with a little more "meat", so stay tuned. |

NLSC Live 09 Rosters Released (360) |

I've released a non-rookie roster update for NBA Live 09 for the 360. There are currently 2 rosters available, an "official" roster with all confirmed player moves and signing since the last 365 update and a second roster containing rumored player transactions.
The plan is to add the rookies sometime this weekend to be available to download both in the rosters and individually into your own roster.
These are available to download from my EA Locker right now. Feel free to add my gamertag: JaoSming to download the rosters.

NBA Live '10 to be released October 6th? |

According to Gamestop.com, NBA Live '10 is set to ship in North America for all platforms on October 6th 2009, the same day as NBA 2K10. As always we have a release date thread stickied in the NLSC Forum, feel free to post any dates for your region of the world so that we may compile a list. We've also tentatively started our annual countdown thread, so if you haven't yet signed up for the Forum yet please feel free to do so and join in on the fun.
An October 6th release date for NBA Live '10 will likely mean that the NBA Live '10 demo will be available for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 in early September. Previous demos have been released on a Thursday, so it's worth noting that the first Thursday in September will fall on the third. We'll be sure to post more information as it comes in. |

Changes to NLSC Forum Structure |

As you may have noticed, we've changed things around a little with the NLSC Forum. We have condensed a lot of sections for the older releases in the series and categorised all NBA Live releases prior to NBA Live '10 as "Older NBA Lives". We are also now utilising just one support section for all NLSC roster updates and merged the Global Hoops section back into NBA Talk, while Video Game Stories is now a subforum under Video Games Central.
These changes have been made to clean up the clutter, give better visibility to a few sections that may have been previously overlooked by some visitors and hopefully make browsing the Forum a lot easier in general. |

Lakers Corner Sim League Update |

I've received word LakersCorner.net is starting up a new sim league and is welcoming applications to fill their vacancies. It is a retro league beginning in the year 1997, if you're interested in taking part please check the league's website and register to apply for one of the available teams. |

As I look ahead to another year of roster updates for NBA Live 2005-08, I'm inviting contributions from the talented graphics patchers in our community to help out with faces, jerseys, courts and more. I have posted a list of art needed as I begin work on the post-Draft updates (at the moment, it's just faces) here in the NLSC Forum. Philladelphia Sixers Logo Update v1.1 |

I've updated the Sixers' 09/10 logo patch for NBA Live 08 based on the latest designs, including the wordmark. I've also created versions of NBA Live 2005, NBA Live 06 and NBA Live 07.

As I've mentioned in recent posts, I will indeed be continuing the rosters updates for NBA Live 2005 through NBA Live 08 and will now be turning my attention back to those updates. The first post-Draft update is traditionally the most time consuming of all the roster updates so I can't put an exact timeframe on the release (especially as I'm not the one creating the rookie face patches) but I will do my best to get it out as soon as possible, much sooner than last year. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy the Sixers updates! |

A couple of new NBA Live '10 and NBA related blogs have been posted over on Inside EA Sports. The first blog touches on Dynamic DNA as Synergy Sports Technology's Founder and CEO Garrick Barr talks in-depth about the relationship with EA Sports and what it means for NBA Live '10.

The 2009 NBA Draft has provided us with another quick glimpse of NBA Live '10 as this video recapping the winners and losers of the Draft on ESPN.com includes some in-game footage of Blake Griffin playing for the Clippers and throwing down a dunk. 2009 NBA Draft Results |

The 2009 NBA Draft is complete! As expected, the Los Angeles Clippers selected Blake Griffin with the first overall pick while a couple of big names have been traded including Shaquille O'Neal and Vince Carter. Full Draft results can be found here on Yahoo! NBA, join in the discussion of all the picks and Draft day trades in the NBA Talk section of the NLSC Forum.
On the NBA Live front: As I mentioned yesterday, I will have new roster updates for NBA Live 2005 through NBA Live 08 out very soon. It takes a while to create all the draftees and I'd like to include a few faces for the most prominent players, so it won't be happening straight away but I will certainly do my best to get them out as soon as possible. In the meantime, byczek has released face patches for Blake Griffin and James Harden; if you missed them, here are the download links again:

It's extremely rare that I release anything other than a roster update (and rest assured, I will be continuing the roster updates for NBA Live 2005 through NBA Live 08 sometime after the Draft) but as I dabbled a little in logo editing while converting some 08 files for use with the 2005 roster, I decided to try updating the Sixers' logos in NBA Live 08 with their newly unveiled "new old look". If nothing else, I feel they can hold us over until one of our more talented graphics patchers releases an update of their own and it was certainly fun to try something new.
