An official patch is now available for the PC version of NBA 2K15. To get it, make sure that you restart your Steam client! A full list of patch notes isn’t available at this time, but the patch is intended to address problems with performance and stability, as well as some other PC specific issues.
Leftos has provided us with the following information in this thread:
- Under “%appdata%\2K Sports\NBA 2K15\” you’ll find a file called VideoSettingsHelp.txt, containing instructions on how to mess around with the VideoSettings.cfg file if you’re feeling adventurous. A set of new tweaking options was added to the file, and all settings, new and old, have descriptions in the help file along with the values and what each one does, as well as helpful recommendations based on your system.
- Small correction to VideoSettingsHelp.txt (thanks jay-r): The explanation for the EFFECTLOD setting is reversed. 0 is ON, 1 is OFF.
- If the game crashes, you should now see a CrashReport.txt file under the same folder. Posting it as an attachment in a reply should help us track down the issue.
Be sure to post any feedback in the aforementioned thread, as well as in the comments section below. We’ll do our best to provide a full list of patch notes as soon as it’s made available. The patches for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of NBA 2K15 are also expected to be pushed through soon, as they have been submitted to Sony and Microsoft for approval.
how can I download the patch? Please be specific.
Nothing more to it than restarting Steam. It should start downloading automatically.
Restarting steam didn’t work…
Have you launched the game once since restarting Steam? After I did that, I found that the VideoSettingsHelp.txt file had appeared, and the patch seems to have been installed.
