Community Websites
Community Websites (or Fansites) are websites dedicated to providing content on a particular topic such as a video game, video game series or video gaming in general. They are unofficial websites run by enthusiasts of their subject matter and usually independently owned, holding no affiliation with the entities covered by their content. Their content usually differs from that of mainstream video game media websites; while community websites may post similar news and announcements, they may also play host to a modding community, organise online events for their visitors and may be more openly biased. Community Websites are also invited to take part in Community Events where their representatives are given the opportunity to provide feedback for the development team and take notes so that they may provide their readers with detailed impressions of games in progress.
