Lutz van Hasselt
Lutz van Hasselt is one of the NLSC's three co-founders along with Tim Tschirner and Brien Smith. He was the author of several tools that allowed users to edit many aspects of NBA Live and one of the originators of the current roster updates. He was also the interim webmaster after Tim accepted a position with EA Sports to join the NBA Live production team.
Works
In addition to developing team and player editors, Lutz maintained current roster updates for NBA Live 95 through to NBA Live 2001 often collaborating with Tim. Their NLSC updates were considered the rosters of choice for almost all NBA Live players in the online community as they were regularly updated and highly detailed. Several of the early roster updates were distributed as packs that also contained retro season updates as well as special rosters that contained celebrities, historical figures, fictional characters and people from the community.
Finding less time to take part in the NLSC, Lutz retired in 2002.
Humour
Lutz was known for his amusing readme files, which often included colourful topics in the FAQ section and compared his decision to end updates for certain NBA Live titles to the retirement and subsequent comeback of Michael Jordan. Jordan himself was sometimes a target of Lutz's witticisms which on occasion drew ire from visitors. Lutz remains one of the most popular figures in the history of the community with those who remember him.
