Player Indicator
The player indicator is an element of the on-screen display during gameplay in various basketball games including NBA Live, NBA 2K and NBA Jam. Its most basic function is to indicate which player the user is currently controlling, usually by means of a circle or other shape which appears beneath the player, sometimes along with their name. The player indicator may incorporate other meters and icons that designate a player's fatigue level, special abilities and other relevant information. Some games allow the player indicator and/or its additional meters and icons to be disabled.
As a texture file, it is usually reasonably easy to modify, allowing the creation of custom player indicators for the PC versions of NBA Live and NBA 2K.
