NBA97Trans is a DOS-based patchmaking utility developed by Tim Tschirner for NBA Live 97. It allowed users to transfer data between the MS-DOS and Windows 95 versions of the game, saving patchmakers time in the creation of roster updates or other users to convert patches for use with the alternate version of the game. As NBA Live 97 was the only PC release to ship with two seperate versions, no similar utility was created for other games in the series.

Usage[edit]

The utility required users to enter the following command at the DOS prompt:

NBATRANS ReadFile WriteFile [FirstPlayerNum] [LastPlayerNum]

Where:

  • WriteFile was the file you want to write the data to
  • FirstPlayerNum was the player to start reading data from
  • LastPlayerNum was the player to stop reading data from
