Scoring has been amped up with 3x the variety of dunks, layups and signature shots as you impose your will on your opponent with physicality you can feel.

ULTRA-RESPONSIVE CONTROLS

Passing, shooting and dribbling will feel snappier the moment you pick up the sticks. Freestyle Passing takes your assist game to the next level with no looks, behind the backs, and more. An all-new shot feedback system teaches you how to successfully get buckets, measuring three key factors in real-time to determine shot quality. Enhancements to bounceTek allow you to make cuts and change momentum on a dime, giving you the ability to create space and pull off devastating skilled dribble moves on the run.

SMARTER AI & TRANSITION GAME

New AI logic drives all 10 players to move with intent and purpose while displaying greater off-ball awareness, adjusting as every play develops. Add in a smooth transition game as well as real-world offensive sets and defensive schemes and you’ve got 48 minutes and 94 feet of end-to-end, dynamic gameplay.

Development[edit]

NBA Live 15 is intended to be a sim-oriented basketball game, aiming to realistically portray the real National Basketball Association. It retains features such as Dynasty Mode, ESPN presentation, right stick dribbling controls, Ultimate Team, BIG Moments, NBA Rewind, and other staples of the NBA Live series.

Following the release of NBA Live 14 and the heavy criticism of the game's graphics, the development team at EA Tiburon has spent considerable time scanning player faces for NBA Live 15, in an effort to improve face textures and models. The developers also indicated that they have been able to make good use of constructive criticism and suggestions offered by the community prior to the release of NBA Live 14's official patch, not only in the creation of the patch but also in the development of NBA Live 15.

The development team also spoke extensively to several coaches around the league to gain an insight into their strategies and approach to the game, in order to make improvements to the AI in NBA Live 15.

The first screenshot of the game was released on June 9th 2014, prior to E3. It spotlighted the improvements to play faces, featuring Paul George, Tony Parker, Rajon Rondo, Blake Griffin, Stephen Curry, and James Harden. A producer blog published on June 24th provided a deeper look at the visual improvements in the game, comparing the arenas and jerseys in NBA Live 15 to their NBA Live 14 counterparts.

Cover Player[edit]

Damian Lillard of the Portland Trail Blazers was announced as the cover player for NBA Live 15 on August 25th, 2014. Lillard was also one of the players tapped by EA Sports in the development of NBA Live 14.

Soundtrack[edit]

The official soundtrack was curated by MICK.

Platforms[edit]

NBA Live 15 was released exclusively on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Reception[edit]

NBA Live 15 has a Metacritic score of 59 for the PlayStation 4 version, and 53 for the Xbox One version. It was praised for being an improvement over NBA Live 14 in various areas, but also criticised for its animation quality, stiffness in the controls, and the lack of depth in its game modes. Among gamers, it is generally considered a step forward for the series, but still below expectations. Several patches and content updates were released during the 2015 season.
