Episode #198 of the NLSC Podcast is out now! Join Kenny and I as we reflect on NBA 2K17 six months in, catch up on what we’ve been playing recently, and discuss a couple of topics related to the real NBA.
On this week’s show…
- NBA 2K17 has been out for around six months now. After many, many hours playing it, what are our favourite and least favourite aspects of the game?
- In Our Week in Basketball Gaming: 2K Pro-Am and MyPARK have lost their appeal for us. On the bright side, we’ve been having more fun with MyLEAGUE, MyTEAM, and MyCAREER.
- The practice of resting players in nationally televised games has prompted some harsh remarks from all-time greats. We offer up our thoughts on the matter, and some of the backlash.
- Larry Sanders has returned to the NBA. Will he be able to pick up where he left off a couple of years ago?

I know I’ve parted ways with 2k17 but if I had to say a positive about the game it’s the deep modes. Having the option to switch things up even in a current game mode like my league like adding expansion teams, I brought back the old Grizzlies myself but I just couldn’t play or enjoy it as much all down to one thing I’d say was my negative about the game… The offline gameplay.
Horrible teammate AI on defence, losting the ball off your leg etc..
The legacy issues are frustrating, especially in areas where it feels like the game has taken a step backwards.
Speaking of sugar Ray there is a good doc on YouTube about former nuggets/Celtics guard Chris Herring
He’s another unfortunate story with a fortunately happy ending. Will have to look up that doco.
