Episode #234 of the NLSC Podcast is out now! It’s another solo show this week due to some unfortunate technical difficulties, so join me as I discuss the latest roster for NBA Live 18, the next qualifying round for the NBA 2K League, the 2018 All-Stars, and more.
On this week’s show…
- A new roster update for NBA Live 18 has added a couple more City Edition jerseys, and made several ratings adjustments. Has it had a noticeable effect on gameplay?
- The NBA 2K League Combine is taking place in February, and is the next step in finding players to be a part of the 17 competing teams. In addition to providing information on how and when to participate, the announcement has also revealed some interesting details about the League’s MyPLAYER Archetypes.
- My Week in Basketball Gaming featured more Ultimate Team in NBA Live 18, and a little bit of retro gaming with NBA Live 06 for the Wayback Wednesday feature.
- Episode #234 of the NLSC Podcast wraps up with some NBA news, including the selection of the 2018 All-Star reserves, the unveiling of this year’s All-Star jerseys, and the anniversary of Kobe Bryant’s 81 point game.

It’s starting to sound like Tom Hanks in castaway or Will Smith in I am Legend lol
Good show though again Andrew, couldn’t agree more about both games ignoring the casual Gamer with trying to expand the games via online experiences I’ve being saying that since Live 16
Is my sanity slipping that quickly? That’s a worry. I’ll need to start holding a basketball (“SPALDING!”) whenever I do the solo shows! 😉
It’s a disappointing trend, especially as we’re the ones making the games profitable, not only with the sales (many of them from pre-orders made in good faith) but also the microtransactions providing the all-important “recurrent revenue”. I get wanting to make the game as good as it can be for the NBA 2K League, but the loyal fanbase deserves the best game possible, too.
