Details on NBA Live 15 Early Access, Trial Version

Xbox One users who subscribe to EA Access will be able to play NBA Live 15 on October 23rd, five days before the game’s official release. The trial version of the game will then be available to all Xbox One users on release day, October 28th. EA Access is currently exclusive to EA’s partnership with Microsoft, so PlayStation 4 users will not have early access to NBA Live 15. However, the trial version will also be made available on PS4 on October 28th.

Any progress that you make in the trial version will continue over to the full version, should you choose to purchase it. For more information on the trial version of NBA Live 15, be sure to tune in to Episode #99 of the NLSC Podcast, where we chatted to NBA Live 15 Executive Producer Sean O’Brien about a variety of topics regarding this year’s game.

NLSC Podcast – Episode #99 (Sean O’Brien Interview #2)

NLSC Podcast Logo

We’re excited to present you with another special episode of the NLSC Podcast this week, featuring our highly anticipated second interview with NBA Live 15 Executive Producer, Sean O’Brien! Our community submitted lots of questions for Sean and we did our best to ask as many of them as possible, as once again he was very open and candid in his responses. Some of the topics we discussed include:

  • The decision to push back NBA Live 15’s release, and the work that’s been done in the additional weeks of development time.
  • The demo/early access dates, and what those trial versions will entail.
  • Key improvements in this year’s game, at both ends of the court.
  • What features are on the cards for next year, and why certain features couldn’t be included this year (such as sliders).
  • Some of the community’s most commonly asked questions about NBA Live 15.
  • And much more!

Click Play to listen to the show!

As we mentioned on the show, Sean will be answering some questions that we didn’t have time to ask “on-air” in written format, so stay tuned for that follow-up. A big thanks to Sean once again for joining us for another interview! As always, we welcome your thoughts on this week’s show, either in the comments below, or here in the Forum. We also invite you to join in the discussion taking place in the NBA Live 15 section of the Forum.

Defensive Improvements in NBA Live 15

EA Sports has posted a new blog and video showcasing the defensive improvements that have been made in NBA Live 15. Noticeable improvements include one-on-one on-ball defense, rebounding and blocked shots, and help defense from AI teammates.

The blog also goes into detail on the various defensive adjustments that can be made in this year’s game.

The Friday Five: Top 5 Frustrating Moments in Basketball Video Games

The Friday Five

Welcome to this week’s edition of The Friday Five! This is a feature that I post every Friday in which I give my thoughts on a topic that’s related to basketball video games, the real NBA or another area of interest to our community, either as a list of five items or in the form of a Top 5 countdown.

If you’re reading this article, it’s probably because you love basketball video games. If you don’t, then the NLSC probably isn’t the website for you, because that’s pretty much what we’re all about. However, no matter how much you love getting into some virtual hoops, there will be times when you find yourself getting really frustrated with basketball video games.

These are the moments where you have to fight the urge to toss the controller across the room. These are the moments where you shut down the game and don’t touch it again until the next day. These are the moments where you switch to a first person shooter or a button mashing beat ’em up to blow off some steam. These are the Top 5 Frustrating Moments in Basketball Video Games.

Details on Synergy in NBA Live 15

A new developer blog has been posted over on the official NBA Live 15 website, discussing EA Sports’ partnership with Synergy Sports, as well as its impact on this year’s game. It details the different data that Synergy provides them with, and how it’s put to use in-game as far as shaping each player’s tendencies and performance.

Synergy data also drives NBA Live 15’s BIG Moments and NBA Rewind games, with data being made available to EA Sports as soon as a game is finished. The data is then used to create challenges based on the game’s stats and any noteworthy highlight plays, such as buzzer beaters.

Check out the blog for more details, and feel free to have your say in the comments below, as well as here in the NBA Live 15 section of the Forum.
