NBA Live 15 Visuals Trailer

EA Sports have released their first trailer for NBA Live 15, and to be frank, it shows a huge improvement over NBA Live 14.

Not surprisingly, the trailer spotlights NBA Live 15 cover player Damian Lillard – fist-bumping last year’s cover player Kyrie Irving, and amusingly, dunking over NBA Live 10 cover player Dwight Howard – as well as stars such as LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, Kevin Love, Rajon Rondo, Blake Griffin, and more.

Hopefully, we’ll be seeing some raw gameplay at some point, though I imagine that if nothing else, we’ll be getting some more trailers between now and October 7th.

Watch the NBA Live 15 Visuals Trailer below, or catch it here on YouTube if you can’t see the embedded video. What do you think? Sound off in the comments below, and join in the discussion here in the NBA Live 15 section of the NLSC Forum.

Latest NBA Live 15 Arena Screenshot: Smoothie King Center

It’s been a few days since EA Sports released a new NBA Live 15 screenshot, but today we have a glimpse of another arena in this year’s game, namely the New Orleans Pelicans’ Smoothie King Center. Check out the full size image below, as well as in our NBA Live 15 Screenshots gallery.

September is now upon us, which means the release of NBA Live 15 is a little over a month away. We still haven’t received a lot of information on the game aside from our in-depth interview with Executive Producer Sean O’Brien, but I’m expecting that to change very soon. In the meantime, Sean has been answering a few questions from gamers via his Twitter account.

As always, feel free to add your thoughts in the comments below, and join in the discussion in the NBA Live 15 section of the Forum.

New Poll: Returning Game Modes

It’s been a while, but we’ve posted a new site poll: “Which mode would you most like to see return to NBA Live or NBA 2K?” Cast your vote now, and feel free to discuss your thoughts in the comments section below, as well as in The Virtual Hardwood section of the Forum.

Our previous poll asked “How do you rate the 2013/2014 NBA season?” It seems that most people quite enjoyed last season, with 38% proclaiming it to be “Good”, while a further 37% went so far as to call it “Excellent”. 16% believed it was just alright, 5% felt it wasn’t great, and a final 4% didn’t enjoy the 2014 campaign at all, deeming it to be terrible. Be sure to join in the discussion of the 2014 FIBA World Cup, the upcoming 2015 NBA season, and more in our NBA & Basketball Talk section.

No Dumb Monday or Beat Jao This Week

It is Dumb Monday, and today you get a dumb excuse for me being lazy despite having more free time to write articles and come up with challenges. Actually, I do not have a good excuse for not writing the article or recording a new challenge attempt. If you want to use this time to go back and attempt older, or last week’s, challenges, I may or may not end up scoring them for the overall leaderboard of Beat Jao.

Click to check out all the Dumb Monday articles and Beat Jao challenges, or reflect on the Tuesday Triple if you’d like. We will see what next week brings before I promise a new challenge or article.

Interview with NBA Live 15 Producer Ryan Ferwerda (GamerHub.TV)

GamerHub.TV has posted a short interview with NBA Live 15 producer Ryan Ferwerda, conducted earlier this month at Gamescom 2014. Ryan discusses the evolution of NBA Live 14, and what to expect from NBA Live 15. You can watch it below, or check it out here on YouTube if you can’t see the embedded video.

For anyone who may be concerned about the footage that’s being used in the interview, it is actually the CGI Trailer for NBA Live 14, and not NBA Live 15 gameplay. Although we’ve received several screenshots of NBA Live 15, we are yet to see the game in action. With September right around the corner and October 7th rapidly approaching, I assume that will change very soon.

NBA 2K15 Screenshots, Clip of Ricky Rubio

A couple of new screenshots have been added to the Steam listing for NBA 2K15, featuring James Harden and John Wall. You can check them both out below, as well as over in our NBA 2K15 Screenshots gallery.

2K Spain has also posted a PlayStation 4 promo spot for NBA 2K15, featuring some in-game clips of Ricky Rubio going up against Stephen Curry and James Harden. Watch it below, or catch it here on YouTube if you can’t see the embedded video. Rubio is set to appear on the Spanish cover of NBA 2K15, although as other sites have pointed out, the photo they’ve used makes him look a little glum about the whole arrangement.

The Friday Five: Top 5 Playoffs BIG Moments in NBA Live 14

The Friday Five

Welcome to this week’s edition of The Friday Five! This is a feature that I post every Friday in which I give my thoughts on a topic that’s related to basketball video games, the real NBA or another area of interest to our community, either as a list of five items or in the form of a Top 5 countdown.

While Dynasty remains my favourite depth mode in NBA Live, I’ve very much enjoyed BIG Moments in NBA Live 14, and was definitely glad to hear that it will be returning in NBA Live 15. Back in March, I posted a countdown of my top five BIG Moments to that point, but plenty of new Moments have been added to the game since then, right through to the end of the 2014 NBA Finals.

So, with the 2014 season in the books, and the 2015 season almost upon us, I thought that I’d take a look back and rank my top five BIG Moments in NBA Live 14 from the 2014 NBA Playoffs. Last year’s postseason gave us quite a few memorable games and moments, and these are the ones that I personally found the most interesting, challenging, and enjoyable to re-play in NBA Live 14. Let the countdown begin!

NBA 2K15 Cheerleader Mo-Cap Clip

Another quick preview of NBA 2K15 has been posted on 2K’s official Instagram account. The latest clip spotlights the cheerleaders in this year’s game, revealing that actual NBA cheerleaders were brought in to motion capture their dance routines. Needless to say, it’s obvious that the team at Visual Concepts is intent on adding authenticity down to the last detail.

These bite-size previews generally lead up to more substantial insights into gameplay and modes, so I expect that we’ll be seeing a producer blog or two in the near future. In the meantime, you can check out the clip below, or here over on 2K’s Instagram account if it’s not showing up for you.

Latest NBA Live 15 Screenshot: Philips Arena

EA Sports continues to release screenshots of all the NBA arenas in NBA Live 15, as the Atlanta Hawks’ Philips Arena is the latest home court to be spotlighted. You can check out the full-size image below, as well as in our NBA Live 15 Screenshots gallery.

At this point, it looks as though all 30 NBA courts may be spotlighted before NBA Live 15 comes out. As we’re coming up on 40 days until the game is released, I would expect that we’ll be seeing a few more player screenshots, as well as a gameplay trailer and maybe some gameplay footage, in the not too distant future. I’m guessing that a couple of producer blogs talking about various elements of gameplay and the depth modes are also on the way.

In the meantime, you can check out a couple of screenshots of Damian Lillard that were released in the wake of him being revealed as the cover player (along with a brief in-game clip), a behind the scenes look at the cover shoot, and of course, tune in to our in-depth interview with NBA Live 15 Executive Producer Sean O’Brien!
