In an interview with Complex Games, 2K’s Vice President of Marketing Jason Argent has commented on Jay Z’s involvement with NBA 2K13 and offered further insight into his role as executive producer. Once again, Jay Z’s role in developing the “culture” of the game is mentioned, along with his selection of the songs that are featured on this year’s soundtrack.
Argent also stresses that the game is not simply an advertisement for Jay Z, insisting that neither party was interested in having that happen. He also suggests that while Jay Z’s contributions are significant, he will not have an overwhelming presence in the game.
Now that more than a week has passed since the initial announcement, what are your thoughts on Jay Z’s involvement with NBA 2K13, and the soundtrack he’s selected? Sound off in the comments below and join in the discussion in the NBA 2K13 section of the NLSC Forum.
