About Us

Welcome to the NLSC!

The NLSC is the largest and longest running independent fansite for basketball video games on the Internet. Founded by Tim, Lutz, and Brien in August of 1996 as the NBA Live Series Center, the NLSC established itself as the top fansite for the NBA Live series by EA Sports, providing fans with unofficial tools and patches along with the latest news on upcoming games.

Over the years, the site’s coverage has expanded to include the NBA 2K series by Visual Concepts/2K Sports, as well as the revival of the NBA Jam series by EA Sports, and basketball gaming in general. In August 2011, the site re-branded itself as simply the NLSC, to better reflect the expanded content and the change in focus from being solely an NBA Live fansite.

Today, the NLSC endeavours to provide the basketball video gaming community with the latest news, information, downloads, and discussion for NBA Live, NBA 2K, NBA Jam, and basketball gaming. It hosts a thriving and talented patching community for NBA Live and NBA 2K, offering free file hosting facilities and a wealth of modding resources.

The NLSC is also involved in EA Sports’ community based initiatives for NBA Live, having been represented by a staff member at several community events. The site has long enjoyed a cordial relationship with NBA Live’s development team, submitting an annual Wishlist containing suggestions from the community. Following the expansion to cover the NBA 2K series, feedback is also submitted to the development team at 2K. The NLSC does remain an unofficial fansite however, having no affiliation with EA Sports, Visual Concepts, or any other video game developer or entity.

Former team members have also gained employment at EA Sports and Visual Concepts, taking on various roles involved with the development of the games. We are extremely proud of the NLSC Alumni that have been able to find work in the industry, developing some of our favourite games.

Since July 2017, the NLSC has been funding its own dedicated hosting, in order to provide the basketball gaming community with a range of facilities from a discussion forum to file hosting. We are currently inviting donations through GoFundMe, as well as Patreon pledges, in order to help pay the bills. Your support is greatly appreciated!
