Anyone working with NBA Live 2005 and NBA Live 06 might be able to get some use out of it as well.

You can download the tutorial here in our database. If you have any further questions, please feel free to post them in this thread in the NBA Live 08 Tutorials section of the Forum.

Da_Czar weighs in on Right Stick Dribbling in NBA 2K13

Da_Czar, the one and only President of SimNation, has weighed in with his thoughts on the changes to dribbling controls in NBA 2K13, as revealed in the first Developer Insight video. In a blog entry you can read here over on Sim Citi, Czar speaks favourably about the change, stating that he likes it a lot and predicting that most users will adapt to the change after three or four games.

While I can’t speak from experience as Czar can, as a long time NBA Live player who still prefers Freestyle Control and has found Isomotion a little cumbersome to use at times, I’m definitely looking forward to the change and expect that most of us will indeed pick it up quickly, whether we’re NBA Live or NBA 2K players. What are your thoughts on the change? Post your comments below and join in the discussion in the NBA 2K13 section of the Forum.

NBA 2K13 Previews Round-Up

In the wake of the first Developer Insight video and three screenshots, we’ve seen some new previews of NBA 2K13 posted today.’s Jon Robinson has provided some hands-on impressions of the game, in which he talks about voice commands (and technical fouls) for Kinect, changes to the dribbling controls and the addition of signature skills. The article also includes several quotes from the NBA 2K13 developers.

Over on The Verge, Samit Sarkar has also posted a preview of the game, covering many of the same points as the previous article but also noting improvements with real time physics and the passing game, including better pass targeting and crispness of passes.

Finally, Mercury News has provided a brief preview of NBA 2K13. It doesn’t include much that hasn’t been mentioned in the aforementioned articles, though it does make note of the dynamic shot generator, which has been updated to better utilise the real time physics and features more natural looking shots.

What are your thoughts after watching the first Developer Insight and reading these previews? Have your say in the comments below and join in the ongoing discussions in the NBA 2K13 section of the Forum.

NBA Live 95 Featured as part of EA Sports’ Throwback Thursday

Interestingly, the official NBA Live Facebook page joined in the weekly EA Sports Throwback Thursday festivities by featuring NBA Live 95, the game that tipped off the series. On the main EA Sports Facebook page, the NBA Live 10 cover was also featured in this week’s Throwback Thursday, in which the 2009 releases were highlighted.

While it may not mean anything, it would appear that EA Sports are still trying to keep everyone aware of the NBA Live brand, suggesting that long awaited news on NBA Live 13 may at last be finally around the corner. It’s also worth noting that the official Facebook page for the NHL series also featured several old covers in between news for NHL 13.

It was also speculated a few weeks back that the reveal of the NBA Live 13 cover might follow the posting of the NBA Live 10 cover on Throwback Thursdays, which would place the announcement sometime next week. However, the timeframe for the cover announcement and the unveiling of more news and preview media for NBA Live 13 remains unconfirmed at this time.

Feel free to speculate in the comments below, as well as in the NBA Live 13 section of the Forum. For those who’d like to dust off their old copies of NBA Live 95 for PC, you’ll find that it works perfectly in DOSBox. We’ve also still got a collection of old updates for the game here in our Downloads section, along with the NBA Live Vintage section of the Forum for all your old school discussion needs.

Dwight Howard heading to the Lakers

It appears as though NBA Live 10 cover player is headed to the Los Angeles Lakers in a four team trade that is expected to be finalised tomorrow. After much speculation, Howard will depart Orlando for Los Angeles along with Earl Clark and Chris Duhon while Andrew Bynum will be sent to the Philadelphia 76ers, who will also receive Jason Richardson from the Magic.

The 76ers will trade Andre Iguodala, currently competing for Team USA in London, to the Denver Nuggets, who will in turn trade Arron Afflalo and Al Harrington to the Magic. The Magic will also receive Nikola Vucevic and Moe Harkless from the 76ers and are picking up three future first round picks and a second round pick in 2013 in the deal.

In addition to shaking up the NBA landscape and making the Lakers one of the favourites to come out of the West this season, it has also set them up to be one of the most frequently used teams in NBA video games this year, as they now boast a formidable starting five of Kobe Bryant, Steve Nash, Metta World Peace, Pau Gasol and Dwight Howard. What do you think of the trade? Add your comments below and join in the discussion here in our NBA & Basketball Talk section!

Details on NBA 2K13 Dynasty Edition for International Gamers

2K Sports Social Media Coordinator Chris “LD2k” Manning has posted some information on the Dynasty Edition of NBA 2K13 here over in the Operation Sports forums, providing some more information on where the pre-order package will be available internationally, and which local retailers will be offering it.

In addition to North America, NBA 2K13 Dynasty Edition will be available in limited supply in France, Spain, Italy, Australia (but oddly not New Zealand), Greece, Poland, the Czech Republic and Hungary. For those who are unaware, the Dynasty Edition is available for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of the game only and contains a copy of the game, a code for the downloadable All-Star pre-order content, a custom NBA 2K13 themed basketball, 2K Sports Ink’d earbuds from Skullcandy and an NBA 2K13 themed controller skin by Skinit.

First NBA 2K13 Screenshots Coming Tomorrow

We’re on the brink of getting more news, information and media on NBA 2K13, as both Ronnie and LD2k have confirmed that developer video insights will be coming in the near future to provide us with a glimpse of the game and comparisons to NBA 2K13.

However, it appears as though we’ll be getting our next look at the game as soon as tomorrow, as Ronnie has confirmed via a Tweet today that he will be providing the first official screenshots of NBA 2K13 once he gets into the office tomorrow.

Thanks to The_Blueprint83 for the heads up in the Forum. Keep an eye out for those screenshots and be sure to add your two cents in our NBA 2K13 section.
