ScrewAttack have posted a series of exclusive screenshots for NBA Jam: On Fire Edition. They reveal a new secret team available in this year’s game: the Sad Pandas, featuring Karl, Emma and Emo. It also appears as though there will be Ninjas team in the game as they are featured in a few of the screens, along with several of the NBA team mascots that will be playable.
Check them out and feel free to leave your thoughts below in the comments or add them here in the Forum. NBA Jam: On Fire Edition will be available next week, coming to the PlayStation Network on October 4th and the Xbox Live Marketplace on October 5th.
It’s been a while since I posted any reminders about our Wishlist initiatives for the next sim title from EA Sports as we’re all gearing up for the release of NBA 2K12 and NBA Jam: On Fire Edition next week, but I would like to give them a quick mention today. First of all, to stress our desire for a PC version of EA’s next NBA sim, we are currently collecting signatures for our PC Petition; your support would be greatly appreciated, so please add your details in the Forum thread or send them in via email or PM if you’re concerned about privacy.
We are also compiling a detailed Wishlist with constructive feedback for the new Dev Team at EA Tiburon, who have been keeping track of what we’ve been posting so far in the thread. Finally, you can provide additional feedback via our Wishlist Survey, which we’ll also be sending in to the producers along with our other Wishlist materials. A big thanks once again to everyone who has helped out with these initiatives so far!
I’d just like to take a moment to remind everyone once again that in the past couple of months we’ve launched a new Downloads section, which is integrated with the NLSC Forum and allows users to upload and add their files for inclusion in the database. Our aim is to better serve the modding communities for both NBA Live and NBA 2K with free file hosting along with a place to promote, share and archive their work, in addition to providing tutorials and other resources.
Whether you’re actively creating updates or would like to upload your existing work for archive purposes, be it for NBA Live or NBA 2K, you are most welcome to contribute; all you need is an active NLSC Forum account! You may currently upload files up to 100 MB in size, for any files that are larger than that please get in touch with me and we can make arrangements as necessary. If you have any questions about uploading files or the Downloads section in general, please drop me a line as well.
Although NBA 2K12 won’t hit store shelves until next week, quite a few people have already got their hands on the game and have been providing us with a glimpse of rosters, ratings, menus, gameplay and more through videos posted on YouTube.
While we will highlight any videos of great significance here in the news, you can check out all the videos as they’re uploaded, found and posted in the NBA 2K12 section of the NLSC Forum. Right now you’ll find several videos containing raw footage of gameplay, My Player creation, menus for NBA’s Greatest and Association Mode, jumpshot styles, dunk packages and even the game’s intro. Check them out and be sure to post your thoughts on what you see. If you’ve already got the game and would like to submit any videos or impressions, please let us know.
GameSpot have posted a new NBA Jam: On Fire Edition trailer which reveals a few more unlockable special players in this year’s game. In addition to Euroleague players, NBA Street characters and even the Honey Badgers, this year characters from EA’s SSX series will be hooping it up.
ESPN.com’s Jon Robinson has confirmed that a selection of NBA Street characters will be playable in NBA Jam: On Fire Edition. Six Street characters in all will appear in the game: Anklebreaker, Monster, Phat, Prodigy, Supersized and the face of the series, Stretch.
The Street team will be unlockable via the game’s progression system rather than a code, which will require you to earn XP and cash them in for the in-game Jam Bucks that allow you to unlock content. Check out some screenshots of the Street characters here in our gallery and post your thoughts in the comments below or in this thread.
Da Czar has posted the second video in his Play of the Day series for NBA 2K12. The latest video showcases a couple of plays for the Miami Heat.
Although it was previously confirmed that NBA 2K12’s legendary teams would not be available for online play, it appears that might not actually be the case thanks to downloadable content. SSchevyRidah has posted a screenshot revealing a rundown of the Legends Showcase in NBA 2K12, which includes the ability to play online with NBA’s Greatest teams.
As you can see, the Showcase will also feature:
Another NBA 2K12 screenshot highlighting an NBA’s Greatest game has been posted over the official Facebook page. This time, the starting lineups for John Stockton’s featured matchup between the 1998 Jazz and Lakers are in the spotlight.
We have a new poll up which asks “What are you most looking forward to playing in NBA 2K12?”; cast your vote now, and be sure to join in the discussion in the NBA 2K12 section of the NLSC Forum!
Our previous poll, posted on the day of our re-launch, asked “What do you think of our new design?”. It seems most of you feel our new look is at least decent, with 48% of voters feeling fairly positive towards it (a big thanks to the 27% who voted that they love it!). Not of all of you are feeling our new design and have pointed out a few things that we’ll look to tweak in the near future. In any event, thanks as always for the support and the feedback, we hope that you’ll continue to visit the NLSC as we await the release of NBA 2K12 and NBA Jam: On Fire Edition and that you’ll enjoy the content that we’ll be bringing you in the near future.
Another NBA’s Greatest lineups screenshot has been posted over on the official Facebook page. This time, Hakeem Olajuwon’s featured game between his 1994 Houston Rockets and Dikembe Mutombo’s Denver Nuggets is in the spotlight.
Having spent a couple of days playing several games of the NBA 2K12 demo, I feel it’s time to post some impressions. In a nutshell, I’m liking what I’m seeing and am definitely looking forward to the full game, though like a lot of people I did feel a little disappointed that the demo is as stripped down as it is and would’ve liked more of an opportunity to sample what’s on offer this year.
In any case, please read on for my full demo impressions, feel free to leave a comment and don’t forget to add your impressions here in the NLSC Forum. For those who haven’t seen JaoSming’s write-up on the demo be sure to check it out here, as he has updated it with some additional thoughts after further hands-on time.
