EA Sports have released a version of NBA Jam for Android OS based smartphones and tablets. The game features traditional 2-on-2 NBA Jam gameplay with high flying dunks and includes three modes of play.
3 modes of play let you ball the way you want:
Play Now – Select a team and jump right into the ballgame.
Classic Campaign – Defeat all other teams to win the championship, and unlock legends, hidden players, and outrageous cheats.
Local Multiplayer – Go big head 2 big head against a friend via local WiFi or Bluetooth
The game also features commentary from Tim Kitzrow, the voice of NBA Jam. The North American version is available here for $4.99, while the rest of the world can pick up the international version here for $4.76.
The nineteenth official roster update for NBA 2K12 is now available. It contains all of the trades that went down at the deadline yesterday, as well as the Bucks/Warriors swap from earlier in the week. Gerald Green is still missing from the Nets roster, however this is apparently due to him being signed to a 10 day contract. If the Nets do end up signing him to a guaranteed deal, he should hopefully begin appearing in future official roster updates.
As long as your PC, Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 is connected to the Internet and up to date with the official patches, the new rosters will be downloaded automatically and can be accessed by using the Reset Roster function under the Options menu. PC users who would like to update their game manually may download this pack, which contains a copy of the latest roster and online data folder. For an overview of the changes in the latest roster, check out this video from Operation Sports.
The NBA trade deadline came and went at 3 PM today, but not before several players changed places. Nene, JaVale McGee, Nick Young, Gerald Wallace, Derek Fisher, Ramon Sessions, Stephen Jackson, Richard Jefferson, Marcus Camby and Leandro Barbosa were among the players dealt at the deadline, following the trade that saw Andrew Bogut and Monta Ellis swap places earlier in the week. Dwight Howard meanwhile opted in to the final year of his contract, putting an end to the speculation that he would be traded, at least until the offseason.
What are your thoughts on all the deals that went down? Have your say in the NBA & Basketball Talk section of the NLSC Forum!
Is another roster update for NBA Jam: On Fire Edition on the way? On the game’s official Twitter and Facebook page, EA Sports are asking fans which player they’d like to see added via a roster update, with the Facebook post inviting users to hit the Like button if they want to see new rosters. While it isn’t exactly confirmation, it does perhaps hint that a new roster update is in fact in the works.
If there is another roster update, it will be interesting to see if any new players are added in light of those posts. The previous update released for NBA Jam: On Fire Edition reflected trades and signings involving all players originally included in the game but did not add any new players, leaving the rosters for some teams very thin while others became stacked. The game is also missing this year’s rookie crop due to the lockout (with the exception of Ricky Rubio, who signed his NBA contract before July 1st last year), so I would expect a few of the standout rookies to make the cut if we do receive a new update with additional players.

The eighteenth official roster update for NBA 2K12 is now available. As long as your PC, Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 is connected to the Internet, the update will come through automatically and can be accessed by using the Reset Roster function under the Options menu. Please note that if you’re playing the PC version, you will need to install the official patch that was released a couple of days ago before you can continue to receive the updates.
PC users can also update their game manually by downloading this pack, which contains a copy of the roster and online data files. The latest roster includes further ratings updates for various players, notably LeBron James, Kevin Durant and Gerald Wallace, though it is still missing a few rookies and D-League call-ups such as Gerald Green. For an overview of the changes, check out this video from Operation Sports.
