2K Sports have released another new NBA’s Greatest starting lineups screenshot, this time highlighting Julius Erving’s featured game between the 1985 Sixers and Bucks.
Feel free to leave your thoughts in the comments below or here in the Forum. 2K have been releasing two NBA’s Greatest screenshots per weekend over the past few weeks, so another one should be coming tomorrow.
After a week of screenshots highlighting some of the additions to My Player mode in NBA 2K12, producer Erick Boenisch has provided us with the fifth Developer Insight which goes into great detail about what we can expect of the mode in terms of new features and improvements to existing ones. Erick explains how you progress through the mode from the Rookie Showcase through to a possible Hall of Fame induction and everything in between, including another rundown of the pre-Draft interviews, mock Draft and the 2011 Draft itself, contract negotiations and paychecks that can be spent on increasing ratings and adding new dunk packages.
Of note, Erick also mentions that NBA 2K12’s My Player will feature “Key Games”, so you won’t have to play each and every game in the season but rather elect to play games that feature key matchups, rival teams or have playoff implications, with stats from simulated games still counting towards the Hall of Fame goals. He also touches upon the expanded endorsements, player abilities, dynamic goals, press conferences, drills, playcalling and the starting rating. Finally, we get a teaser of some Association information as Erick mentions that Adam Silver was brought in to record audio for the second round of the Draft, hinting that he and David Stern will be featured during the Draft in Association as well as My Player. It’s well worth checking out, give it a read and join in the discussion here in the Forum.
Ronnie has also mentioned on Twitter that the next week and a half will be all about gameplay, including a word from Mike Wang.
EA Sports are beginning to unveil more of the players that will be included on each team’s roster in NBA Jam: On Fire Edition, posting two new screenshots on the official Facebook page featuring Chauncey Billups and Nate Robinson.
To further promote all the legends and classic teams in NBA 2K12, 2K Sports have launched the NBA 2K Debate which invites fans to pick one of the teams in the game, create a video explaining why you believe it’s the greatest team of all-time, upload it to YouTube and submit it via the NBA 2K Debate website. 2K themselves tip the debate off with none other than Michael Jordan.
Talk about the video and your pick in the debate in this thread. For anyone creating videos for the debate, feel free to share them as well.
Before my 10 AM My Player post, a couple admin things. Online Insight will be post demo, demo will be like last year, 7-14 days prelaunch
Last My Player screen tomorrow at 8 AM PST. Insight at 12 PM PST.
So it seems we can expect the demo to come out from mid-September onwards, though probably no earlier than the 22nd. Tomorrow’s Developer Insight should give us a detailed rundown of what to expect in My Player, with the screenshot likely being another glimpse at Ronnie’s career to date.
CSNWashington.com has posted a video preview of NBA 2K12 featuring gameplay footage which shows off a game between the Lakers and Wizards, the 1965 Celtics taking on their rival Lakers and the Heat squaring off against the Mavericks.
Our Wiki has once again been hit hard by spambots recently, so I’ve put a few new measures in place that should hopefully prevent them from creating pages with spam links and inappropriate content. Additionally, we currently do not allow anonymous users to create pages and accounts must now be at least four days old for registered users to create pages. However, anonymous and registers users alike can edit a majority of the pages in the Wiki, with only a few select pages being locked to preserve resources and deter would-be vandals. As I’ve mentioned before, our aim is to create the ultimate resource for basketball video games, so we invite you to jump in and help us expand our articles! Be sure to check out the Help section if you’re new to Wiki formatting.
EA Sports have officially confirmed the release dates for NBA Jam: On Fire Edition. The game will be available on the PlayStation Network in North America on October 4th and will be available worldwide in the Xbox Live Marketplace on October 5th, at a cost of $15 or 1200 Microsoft Points. Remember you can discuss all the latest news and previews for NBA Jam: On Fire Edition in The Virtual Hardwood section of the NLSC Forum. You can also check out our Wiki article on the game here.
More details on NBA 2K12’s My Player mode have just been posted over on the official Facebook page, along with yet another screenshot. The latest post reveals that David Stern has lent his voice to this year’s game, as he announces each team’s pick for the first round and greets them on stage with a handshake, just as in real life.

Day 1 of My Player Week continues with some info and a screenshot of the mock draft in NBA 2K12’s My Player mode. As you can see, some of the scout’s comments address the fallout of Ronnie’s pre-Draft interview, in which he noted he displayed a bit of an attitude.
Ronnie notes that the results of the mock draft are not absolute and that players may end up going higher or lower than projected, just as in real life. Join in the discussion here in the Forum or leave a comment below with your thoughts.
I’d just like to remind everyone once again about our recently relaunched Downloads section, which is integrated with the NLSC Forum. In relaunching the new section, we have weeded out all broken links and can now offer everyone the ability to upload files up to 100 MB in size for both NBA Live and NBA 2K, while immediately submitting them for inclusion in the database. Our aim is to provide the community with free file hosting without fear of work getting lost after a period of inactivity, which has been an issue in the past with patchers using various free hosting services around the Internet.
We’re keen to help out the modding communities for NBA Live and NBA 2K with tutorials, resources and file hosting, so please feel free to begin using the facilities; all you need is an NLSC Forum account to start uploading! If you have any questions or run into any problems, please drop us a line. If you have a file larger than 100 MB, by all means shoot me an email or PM so that we can make alternative arrangements.
