It doesn’t appear as though a new official roster update for NBA 2K12 has gone live as yet today, however earlier in the week a few new shoes came through via the online updates. As such, I’ve updated the offline update pack for PC users with a copy of the most recent roster and online data files, accurate as of May 1st. If a new roster does come out this weekend, I’ll be sure to update the pack again as soon as possible.
Remember that you can receive the updates automatically on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 as long as you are connected to the Internet and your game is up to date with the latest official patch.
With the unveiling of the new Brooklyn Nets logos, I’ve decided to get a jump on updates for next season. While these won’t be included in the next set of roster patches that I anticipate releasing early next week, seeing as how those will still be 2012 season updates, I’m releasing the new Nets logos separately for anyone who’d like to update their game early.
Make sure that you download the correct pack for the game you’re playing.

Here are some supplementary updates for the current rosters that Dynasty Mode players may be interested in. The Real Staff patches are batch files that automatically update the names and attributes of the staff members of every NBA team to reflect their real assistant coaches, trainers and scouts. It must be applied to a Dynasty game that’s already been started, so be sure to make a backup of your Dynasty just in case anything goes wrong.

Kotaku’s Owen Good has posted another piece on NBA Live 13, “NBA Live Moves with a Purpose to Make You a Better Baller”. It begins by talking about the basketball pedigree of several people involved with the game and reflects on the way many people play basketball video games, as observed by several key members of the Dev Team.
The main focus of the article however is the aim of improving teammate AI in NBA Live 13, encouraging the player to pay attention to the way their teammates are moving without the ball. It includes quotes from executive producer Nick Wlodyka, who explains the “Move With a Purpose” mantra the team has adopted and notes that they have “invested significantly in (the) off-the-ball AI” in this year’s game, shedding some light on one of their goals with gameplay in NBA Live 13.
Check out the article and add your thoughts in the comments below, as well as this thread in the NLSC Forum.

The 2012 NBA Playoffs are officially underway as the postseason has tipped off with four games. Unfortunately it’s been an inauspicious start for Chicago Bulls fans like myself, with Derrick Rose set to miss the rest of the Playoffs after suffering a torn ACL.

Please note that the rosters were finalised on April 23rd and as such, do not include the signings of Xavier Silas and Derrick Byars, while also featuring late season lineups where several key players were resting. I anticipate releasing another set of updates in the next week or so which will feature those transactions along with lineups updated as of the first round of the 2012 Playoffs and any fixes/updates that may be required. Thanks again to everyone for your patience in recent months, I hope you enjoy the rosters!
