LeBron James talks about NBA 2K14’s Soundtrack

NBA 2K14 cover player LeBron James has posted a video on Instagram in which he talks about the soundtrack in this year’s game. LeBron mentions that he was asked to put together the soundtrack and since there is room for a few more songs, he’s inviting fans to give him their suggestions on what they’d like to hear in the game.

You can send in your suggestions via his Twitter, Instagram and Facebook, as well as here on the official NBA 2K Facebook page. What are some of the songs you’d like to hear in NBA 2K14? Have your say in the comments below!

NBA 2K14 Euroleague Q&A (Operation Sports)

Operation Sports have posted a Q&A with 2K Sports regarding the 14 Euroleague teams that will appear in NBA 2K14. The Q&A confirmed that the teams will only be available for Exhibition and Online play, with each team boasting a roster of 10 authentic players. The game will include one Euroleague arena with the home team’s branding and proper court dimensions.

The Euroleague teams have also been confirmed for all platforms, including the PC. 2K also hinted at future news regarding classic teams and players, while noting that no classic teams were removed to make way for the Euroleague teams. Check out the Q&A over at OS for the full scoop and add your thoughts in the comments below, as well as in this thread in the NLSC Forum.

GameWorld Interview with 2K’s Jason Argent; Euroleague in NBA 2K14

GameWorld, a Greek gaming website, has posted an exclusive interview with 2K Sports’ Senior Vice President of Operations, Jason Argent. In the interview, Jason talks about the presence of Euroleague teams in NBA 2K14, reiterates that 2K’s exclusive deal with Euroleague is multi-year and hints that the game will have a presence at Gamescom. He also mentions that 2K were not able to license the real arenas for the Euroleague teams, but they will be doing their best to make them as realistic as they possibly can.

The interview is in Greek but if you’re browsing with Google Chrome, the in-built translator should do the trick. Failing that, NLSC Forum member kill bill, who gave us the heads up on the article, has also posted a translated summary in this thread.

The Friday Five: 5 Thoughts As We Farewell Leftos

It’s Friday at the NLSC, which means it’s time for another edition of The Friday Five! If you’re checking out The Friday Five for the first time and are wondering what it’s all about, this is a feature that I post every Friday in which I pick a topic that’s related to basketball video games, the real NBA or another area of interest to our community, then either give my thoughts on the topic in five points or countdown a Top 5.

I’d like to do something a little different in this week’s Friday Five. As you may have seen on Twitter, Leftos is very close to officially joining 2K Sports as a member of the NBA 2K development team. We’ll hopefully be able to get him on the NLSC Podcast one last time before he begins his new duties but just to tip off the farewell party, I’d like to offer five thoughts as we bid Leftos goodbye from the team and good luck at 2K.

NLSC Podcast – Episode #35

It’s episode #35 of the NLSC Podcast! Leftos couldn’t join us again this week, so once again Ben and I pull a LeBron and Wade to get the job done. The last week has seen some interesting news for both basketball games, the 2013 NBA Draft and the beginning of another offseason, so there’s plenty for us to talk about in this week’s show.

  • Gameplay designer Scott O’Gallagher hosted a Q&A on the official NBA Live Twitter account last Thursday. We had questions about NBA Live 14 and got some pretty interesting answers, which we break down.
  • On the other side of things, we’ve seen our first glimpse of NBA 2K14 on PlayStation 3 and discovered that 14 Euroleague teams will be in the game. Are we excited for that?
  • The 2013 NBA Draft brought a few surprises. How awesome was David Stern’s trolling of the Brooklyn crowd?
  • Indecision 2.0 is in full swing. Since we can’t get enough of predictions, we consider where Dwight Howard might be headed, before taking a look at some other noteworthy moves.
  • Don Mattrick’s move, another gem from Microsoft, Leisure Suit Larry and of course The Last of Us all get a mention as we finish up with some talk about other video games.

NBA 2K14 Mocap Sessions featuring Harrison Barnes & Kent Bazemore

NBA 2K14 Cover Art

Ronnie 2K has been posting some videos on Instagram, giving us a glimpse behind the scenes of some motion capture sessions with Harrison Barnes and Kent Bazemore of the Golden State Warriors. This video shows Harrison Barnes performing a dunk to be captured, this one features Kent Bazemore getting his jumpshot into the game and a third video spotlights the motion capture of a signature celebration, namely “Bazemoring”.

Give them a look and feel free to share your thoughts in the comments below, as well as in the NBA 2K14 section of the NLSC Forum.

NBA 2K14 to Include 14 Euroleague Teams

Tweeted by 2KInternational, then followed up by an official announcement by the Euroleague, it appears 14 teams from the Euroleague will be in NBA 2K14. The announcement also makes mention that this is a multi-year exclusive partnership with 2K. The teams that will be in the game are:

Alba Berlin, FC Barcelona, Real Madrid, CSKA Moscow, EA7 Emporio Armani Milano, Montepaschi Siena, Fenerbahçe Ülker Istanbul, Anadolu Efes Istanbul, Olympiacos Piraeus, Panathinaikos Athens, Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv, Zalgiris Kaunas, Unicaja Málaga, Laboral Kutxa Vitoria

Euroleague mods for the PC version of basketball games have always been popular, its great to finally see them in the game officially! Check out discussion of the announcement in our NBA 2K14 Forum. Thanks to Skerzos, for the heads up!

First NBA 2K14 Screenshots (Xbox 360/PlayStation 3)

2K Sports have released the first screenshots of NBA 2K14 via the game’s official Facebook page. The screenshots feature cover player LeBron James and are from the Xbox 360/PlayStation 3 version of the game, so they don’t represent what we’ll be seeing on the next gen consoles. They do of course give us an idea of what the PC version will look like, however history suggests that the PC version’s lighting/shading won’t be as good…at least until our modding community gets to work.

Check out all three images below or over in our new NBA 2K14 Screenshots gallery and have your say in the comments, as well as in the NBA 2K14 section of the NLSC Forum.

The Friday Five: 5 Things that NBA 2K14 Must Do or Have

NBA 2K14 Cover Art

Welcome to another Friday here at the NLSC, which brings us to another edition of The Friday Five! If you’re unfamiliar with The Friday Five and you’re wondering what it’s all about, this is a feature that I post every Friday in which I pick a topic that’s related to basketball video games, the real NBA or another area of interest to our community, then either give my take on the matter in five points or countdown a Top 5.

In last week’s Friday Five, I took a look at five things that I feel NBA Live 14 must do or have to make a strong comeback and be successful, so this week I’m shifting my attention to NBA 2K14. The NBA 2K series has obviously been faring a lot better than NBA Live lately, but if it’s to maintain its momentum and continue to improve as we find ourselves entering the next generation of consoles, there are some important things that the development team at 2K Sports need to keep in mind.
