New Poll: Which Modes Are You Playing Right Now?

Now that NBA Live 15 and NBA 2K15 have been out for a little while, and gamers have either had a chance to pick them up and get stuck into playing them, or elected to go back and play an older game, we have a new multiple choice poll for you all: “Which Modes Are You Playing Right Now?” Cast your vote now, and feel free to talk about some of your recent basketball gaming experiences in the comments section below!

Our previous poll asked “Who’s your early pick to win the 2015 NBA Championship?” The defending champion San Antonio Spurs were the favourites with 23% of the vote, just edging out the Cleveland Cavaliers with 22%. The Chicago Bulls were the third most popular pick at 19%, followed by the Houston Rockets (8%), the Miami Heat (7%), and the Portland Trail Blazers (4%). A further 17% believe another team entirely will win it all this year.

Don’t forget that you can join in all the discussion of the real NBA and other leagues in the NBA & Basketball Talk section of the NLSC Forum!

NBA 2K15 PC Modding Update: More Tools Released

As you may already be aware if you’ve been hanging out in the Forum or listening to the NLSC PodcastVl@d Zola Jr. and gregkwaste have both been doing some excellent work in developing tools to mod NBA 2K15. While we can’t do any work with the rosters, and sharing them outside of the game is still a no-go due to the way the roster files are encrypted, both tools are able to open the texture and audio files.

Please note that they are a work in progress, so please feel free to post constructive feedback and bug reports so that Vlad and Greg can resolve any issues. You can download the latest version of both tools here:

Additionally, Vlad has revealed that he applied for a job with 2K Sports, and is currently in negotiations. He’ll keep us informed as to the situation with RED MC for NBA 2K15 (as well as NBA 2K13 and NBA 2K14), but for now, I’d like to extend my congratulations to Vlad on the forthcoming gig, and thank him again for his hard work over the past few years.

NLSC Podcast – Episode #101

NLSC Podcast Logo

Episode #101 is out now, hosted by Arcane and myself! Despite my obsession with the Fallout series, I resisted the temptation to make a Fallout 3 reference. We did, however, provide our initial impressions of NBA Live 15, our latest thoughts on NBA 2K15, and our reflections on the first week of the 2014/2015 NBA season.

  • We briefly reflect on last week’s 100th Episode of the NLSC Podcast.
  • NBA Live 15 is out now! We’ve had the game for a week now, and have some initial impressions to share.

NBA 2K15 Daily Update Checklist

2K Sports have posted a checklist over on the official NBA 2K Facebook page, which provides a comprehensive overview of the additions and changes that are being made in NBA 2K15’s daily updates. It includes lists of players that have been added, players who are currently out with injuries, ratings adjustments, accessory and shoe changes, and even contract updates.

NBA 2K’s official updates have occasionally been criticised in the past for leaving out players, making minimal changes to ratings, or otherwise lacking detail. However, it would certainly seem that there’s an increased dedication to authenticity in this year’s updates.

As far as further official fixes and patches are concerned, there’s currently no ETA on when the next one will arrive. Once again, if you’ve been experiencing technical problems with the PC version of NBA 2K15, I encourage you to check out the stickied threads here in the Forum, where Leftos has been going above and beyond in providing support.

NBA 2K15 PC Free to Play on Steam This Weekend

If you haven’t yet picked up NBA 2K15 on PC, you may be interested to know that it will be Free to Play on Steam over the weekend. In the absence of a demo, this provides a good opportunity to check out the game and see how well it will run on your rig, if that’s been holding you back from buying it.

Speaking of the PC version of NBA 2K15, the community is still figuring things out as far as the file formats are concerned, but you can keep tabs on the progress being made here. Once again, for anyone who’s experiencing any technical difficulties, Leftos has been going above and beyond with his support in the NLSC Forum. Be sure to check out the stickied threads in the main NBA 2K15 section for more information.
