NBA 2K14 MyCAREER & NBA 2K7 Highlights

NBA 2K14 MyCAREER & NBA 2K7 Highlights

As you probably know by now, Dee and I are always uploading videos of our basketball gaming sessions, whether we’re playing solo, co-op, or Dee is hitting the virtual hardwood with his brothers. Our latest highlights feature NBA 2K14 MyCAREER on PlayStation 4, and NBA 2K7 for PlayStation 3.

Dee recently hosted our co-op session of NBA 2K7 over Parsec, in which we took on the Minnesota Timberwolves with the Boston Celtics. They’re a couple of underdog teams on the verge of making a blockbuster deal, and it turned into a competitive game with some spectacular moments. As you’d imagine, it was very tempting to take it to the hoop with Gerald Green as often as possible!

Meanwhile, I’ve reached the Playoffs in Year 6 of my ongoing NBA 2K14 MyCAREER, so I’ve put together the best highlights from Games 72-82. I’ll be posting highlight reels from each round of the 2019 Playoffs, before returning to the 10-game reels for the 2020 regular season. You can also follow along with the results of my NBA 2K14 MyCAREER in my story topic in the Forum.

Check out both highlight reels below! As always, we’re open to suggestions of games that you’d like to see us play, so feel free to hit us up. In the meantime, make sure you’re subscribed to the NLSC YouTube channel for more basketball gaming highlights, video essays, the NLSC Podcast, and the weekly Top 10 Plays.

Wayback Wednesday: NBA 2K7 Retrospective (Xbox 360 & PlayStation 3)

Wayback Wednesday: NBA 2K7 Retrospective (Xbox 360 & PlayStation 3)

This is Wayback Wednesday, your midweek blast from the past! From retrospectives of basketball games and their interesting features, to republished articles and looking at NBA history through the lens of the virtual hardwood, Wednesdays at the NLSC are for going back in time. This week, I’m taking a look back at the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 version of NBA 2K7.

As someone who grew up with NBA Live, my familiarity with the series and a sense of brand loyalty often made it difficult to give other games a fair chance. Over the years, I’ve become a fan of the NBA 2K series, and have also enjoyed collecting and revisiting other titles that were competing with the NBA Live games that I played. It’s been rewarding to give them a second look – or in some cases, a first look – with fresh eyes and more of an open mind. I’m far more willing to adapt to a different style of controls than I was when the latest NBA Live was still my game of choice.

It’s why all these years later, I found myself on an extended retro kick with NBA 2K6. Indeed, it’s retroactively become one of my favourite games, and to this day, I enjoy keeping it in the rotation whenever I feel like changing up what I’m playing. With that in mind, I’ve been giving other NBA 2K games from that generation another look, to see if any of them capture my imagination as NBA 2K6 did. To that point, has its immediate successor, NBA 2K7, also succeeded in becoming one of my favourites? Let’s take a look back…way back…

NLSC Podcast #420: The Legend of Keyon Dooling

NLSC Podcast Logo

From courtside of the virtual hardwood, it’s Episode #420 of the NLSC Podcast!

Inspired by QB1120’s stories of Keyon Dooling in NBA 2K7, we fired up the game to see what the fuss was all about. Turns out, we have a newly-minted Video Game Legend! We also connected with Brent and NBA Live Girl for a 4-player session of NBA Jam: On Fire Edition that none of us wanted to end. After recapping some other recent adventures on the virtual hardwood, we talk about the reason we’re able to play so many basketball video games: our passion for collecting. We open up the mailbag to talk about the games that our listeners wish that they owned, as well as some of the purchases that they regret.

To get involved with the mailbag or to provide any feedback on the show, hit us up in the comments, reach out on social media, or post here in the NLSC Forum! For more information on the NLSC Podcast including episode guides, check out this page in our Wiki. You can also find the show on our YouTube channel, along with the rest of our video content. As always, thanks for tuning in, and go get buckets!
