We’ve just got the one file addition today, a new intro for NBA Live 08 by fdlk0501 (also compatible with NBA Live 2005, NBA Live 06 and NBA Live 07) which replaces the default video with the recently unveiled NBA Live 13 bootflow. Speaking of roster updates, once again I’d like to remind everyone that I will be continuing the roster updates for NBA Live 2005, NBA Live 06, NBA Live 07 and NBA Live 08 this season, but cannot set a release date at this time. Please stay tuned for further updates when I’m a little further along in the process.

Killer Crossover aka OG has re-posted his video tutorial for editing headshape and hair files using Ebodit. The tutorial was originally created for NBA Live 07 but is also applicable to NBA Live 08, as the file formats are exactly the same. Anyone working with NBA Live 2005 and NBA Live 06 might be able to get some use out of it as well.

I’ve created a Jacque Vaughn coach face patch for NBA Live 08, converted from his original player face by EA. It includes a batch file which will automatically update any coaches.dbf file with the necessary values, or if you’d like to make the changes manually, I’ve included that information in the readme.txt. file. The patch can also be used with NBA Live 2005, NBA Live 06 and NBA Live 07 and is available to download here.
I’d also like to give everyone a quick update on the status of the roster updates for this coming season. As I’ve mentioned before, I’m taking the rosters year-by-year at the moment. With NBA Live 13 being a console only release and a decent amount of people still playing and patching NBA Live 2005-08, I’ve decided that I’ll maintain the roster updates for at least one more season. I’ve already started on them and hope to have them out in time for the start of the season this year. With no lockout to dim my enthusiasm, I’m much more optimistic about that goal.
However, no exact release date is set for the next update at this time. Furthermore, I will not be setting an exact release date just yet and I ask that you please do not pester me about the release date or the current status of the update. I’ll try to keep you all informed of where I’m at with the rosters but please understand that being needled about the updates just makes them that much more of a chore and it doesn’t encourage me to get them out any quicker; if anything, it makes me feel like pulling the plug on them and avoiding all the bother. As always, your patience and support are very much appreciated!

Are you ready for another great NBA Live 08 tool from Ayiep? This time it’s Portraits Workshops, which can be used to create custom portrait updates much more easily and includes a handy step-by-step user guide. While the tool was developed for NBA Live 08, you should be able to use it to create portraits for NBA Live 2005, NBA Live 06 and NBA Live 07 as well, since the portrait file format is the same in all four games.
