Hey,
I have NBA Live 10 demo and noticed that graphics file formats are similar to NHL games which I can edit with a tools I made for NHL textures. I think some might be interested this. I tried to add modded stuff in retail console but didn't succeed so if you don't care about LIVE I recommend rgh modded console for mods. I wrote a tutorial for NHL Legacy jersey modding here:

To view textures you need Noesis: https://richwhitehouse.com/index.php?content=inc_projects.php and rx2 script in attachment (extract zip and put the script in plugins/python folder.

Curious, do you think this would be possible on the PS3 emulator?

I have the game for the emulator and it works flawless, and I know other roms for other emulators have been modded in the past.

It might. It might also be a way to extract some textures. That fan-made Warriors jersey would make a fun mod.

I think it's possible. Probably NBA has the same rpsgl format that NHL uses. I wrote a short tutorial to mod rpsgl textures:

I don't have ps3 or pc which I can run emulator to test it in game but this should work. You need noesis.exe and quickbms (https://aluigi.altervista.org/quickbms.htm and the scripts below.

I downloaded NBA live 10 ps3 demo and noticed that rpsgl textures are in 2 parts for example kit_12_0_0.rpsgl and kit_12_0_0.rpsgl.1. The first one is header section and the second one data section. Connect the parts together copying data from kit_12_0_0.rpsgl.1 to end of kit_12_0_0.rpsgl in hex editor and the scripts above works right. After modifying split files as they were originally.

Well since I’ve posted this I actually got the .big file broken down, and I used the Rx2 Patcher to get the.dds files. I’m also on PS3, so I have RPSGL files. I edited the .dds texture, but I can’t use the BIG-File-Extractor to open the .big files and replace the RPSGL. What should I do?

Big File Extractor doesn't support BIGF/BIG4 files like this. You can try GHFears bat tool for fifafs.exe to replace files in big:

You can edit dds or convert image to dds and patch rpsgl using Legacy patcher. Make sure that edited/converted dds dxt compression format is same as in rpsgl and also mipmaps are generated if needed.
Here is dds converter I used some testing. Set output format to correct dxt compression and check mipmaps in options.

I have updated Rx2 Patcher to auto recognize .rpsgl and .rpsgl.1 files so hex editing neither rpsgl quickbms export no needed any more. Just use Legacy Patcher and select .rpsgl file and make sure .rpsg.1 file is in same folder.

I think problem is .bh file indices. When replacing files in big file then changed compressed file size, decompressed file size and offset indices should be update in .bh (big header). I'll try to make rebuilder tool for BIG4/BIGF files.

I tested that Fifa fs works replacing files in big but .bh files is kind of different in FIFA.

I just tested NCAA Basketball 10 demo in rpcs3 and it works perfectly with extracted big files and you don't need to repack bigs.
Step by step instructions in rpcs3. I don't have ps3 so I don't know how it works in there.

1. Install game .pkg in rpcs3 and installed game found in rpcs3/dev_hdd0/game/NPxxxxxxx

2. Download quickbms here https://aluigi.altervista.org/quickbms.htm
and the script here https://aluigi.altervista.org/bms/ea_big4.bms

3. Open quickbms.exe -> select ea_big4.bms ->select big in USRDIR (for example rpcs3/dev_hdd0/game/NPxxxxxxx/USRDIR/gfx1.big) -> select USRDIR folder to output folder (rpcs3/dev_hdd0/game/NPxxxxxxx/USRDIR)

4. Move gfx1.big and gfx1.bh away from URDIR folder or just rename it for example xxgfx1.big and xxgfx1.bh

5. You can now edit rpsgl files in USRDIR/data/gfx/sceneassets/fxsimple and game loads files from folder instead of .big. You can do it for all bigs inside USRDIR but it's not necessary if there are bigs you don't want to edit.
Edit.
When you edit rpsgl in rx2 patcher and you want to compress files (you don't have to compress) use refpack compression (don't use chunkzip/chunklzx because the game doesn't recognize it. Chunkzip is used in EA games past 2011 and chunklzx only in X360.)
After quickbms export your USRDIR folder should look like this:

Thanks for the tutorial Beedy, after playing around with the live 10 files i was able to create the heats updated jersey (Yeah i know its way off) by using the nhl legacy texture extractor.

Is it possible to force high LOD in game for ps3 version?
I found player.xml in data3.big,but it shows disorder code when I try to edit it :cry:

Hey guys just saw this thread. What programs do we need to edit things like courts, logos and graphics files? Have you had any luck in editing anything roster based, ie team names?
