Cyclic Redundancy Check when reinstalling NBA2k14

Postby antslucanas on Tue Mar 31, 2020 6:16 am

Hey guys, can someone help me fix this issue? I decided to delete my nba2k14 for some reason few days ago and now I'm thinking of playing it again so I tried to reinstall it but whenever I'm on the installation process, specifically on the 'updating components' part, it just stuck there and the cyclic redundancy check error will appear. I already deleted all related files from my local disk and even from the registry but still got no luck. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

Try waiting it out. Step away from your computer and give it up to 15 to 20 minutes, normally it will end up working.

What do you mean by "it will end up working?"

So I'll just let the "Data error (cyclic redundancy check) appear without doing anything and it will install eventually?

Usually it will push through if you wait long enough. I had this issue with a game last year, and I want to say I waited even longer.

So I'll just let that error pop up box on my screen and it will eventually download?

Can you show a screenshot of the error?

So, I've tried waiting it out and it still doesn't seem to work. I've also tried doing a custom download and changing the location of the file to the C drive, which also hasn't worked. Do I just let the error message pop up and wait for something to change? Does anybody have another potential solution? Please help!

I fixed this years ago by doing the following:

1. Insert your DVD of the game into your computer
2. Create a folder on your desktop
3. open the folder that shows what's in your DVD and download everything to the folder on your desktop. (this will take awhile)
4. once completed, find the setup/install file in your new folder and click on it. (Leave the DVD in your computer)

This worked for me.
