don't touch it! I made the experience that editing ASA_ID immediatly destroys roster files. if you edit ASA_ID, ingame you will have a lot of crashes in asso. and MyCareer.
Changing it can unlock players for use in Blacktop, and I believe it also has something to do with career stats as well. With that in mind, changing it in REC MC has its use as far as creating a roster that's only usable in Play Now, but if you're not interested in doing something specific like unlocking players for Blacktop, there's no reason to touch it. It's not going to improve or facilitate anything aside from a couple of very specific uses.
You can add new ASA_IDs when you add new players. Every player needs to have a unique ASA_ID number. If you have 2 Charles Barkleys in the roster each will have a different ASA_ID.
