WWE 2K

Saw a snippet about it on WNW this morning, so figured I might as well start a thread on it. Also, for those who are unaware, former NBA Live Community Manager and Producer Marcus Stephenson is now handling the community stuff for SDvRAW 2011.

JR posted a blog about the game which has since been removed, in which he mentioned some details about his involvement in the game:

"It looks like WWE has lined up a really cool, THQ video game for me to work on and that I will likely be broadcasting alongside the King in the game where Legends compete with active Superstars.

"I'm not sure of the release date or the creative details, etc but the concept, as explained to me, was really cool. I hope to begin my voice overs in the next week or two. We're burning daylight on this one and need to get rocking. I'm ready!"

Sounds good to me. (Y)

Whatever happened to the "Smackdown vs Raw Online" thing?

And it's great to be hearing JR again.

If you've seen it happen in a TLC match in WWE programming, chances are you'll be able to replicate it, or something very close to it, in SVR 2011. Let's talk tables first. In previous games, sending a body flying through a table was typically an all-or-nothing affair: you either hit the table and it collapsed, or you grazed it and nothing happened at all. In SVR 2011, where you hit the table will matter, and tables will break in different ways--one side might collapse after a leg folds in, for example, or you can break a table completely and it will shatter into pieces (with those fragments remaining as real objects in the ring for a limited time before disappearing).

That sounds good
Opinions are my own.

That's looking really good, love the idea of being able to actually throw people onto ladders and other such weapons for added impact. Adjusting the move once it's started to alter where an opponent lands is a great idea, that's really going to come in handy for tables matches.

WWE All-Stars looks like an interesting concept, not sure I'll pick that up when it comes out next year but something to keep an eye on.

It would be much cooler IMO for some of the objects not to disappear. I think the last time it happened was with Here Comes the Pain.

And hell that Orton model looks exactly like him.

Looks like there'll be significant amount of debris around though, especially if you're really going crazy with weapons.

http://www.gamespot.com/ps3/action/wwes ... Btitle%3B2

gameplay clips of both SmackDown and Allstars ..

Have to say, Allstars looks fecking ridiculous, even more than in the screenshots.
It's definitely aimed at younger people, which is a good thing regarding the Smackdown series, in my eyes. This way it's less likely they take things like blood out of the SvR games.

It'll probably find an audience, it's a decent enough idea but I think I'll stick with the SDvRAW series.

Considering the people that McMahon has brought back after a less than amicable parting of the ways, whatever led to his falling out with Savage must've been pretty bad. Bret Hart does possibly shed some light on the matter in his book as he mentions that when Savage unexpectedly signed with WCW in the mid 90s, he called up Vince at 4 AM and drunk to tell him. Perhaps something else was said during that conversation or Vince simply didn't appreciate the way the situation was handled.

Or maybe Savage just wants too much money to appear in the game.

this is my guess. vince would put him in the game if he hated him and wanted to see him dead. he wuld bring money to the game and vince is no fool. its not like vince would ever even have to talk to him to get him into the game so it is probably a money issue. he brought the warrior back after all

That's true. Savage I believe owns his character, moniker and all related trademarks. Jim Hellwig changed his name to Warrior but WWE owns the trademark on Ultimate Warrior.
