They are remastering the first two Tony Hawk games

I'm sure a lot of people might have a nostalgia for this game series.

As good of an excuse as any to listen to this again.

I love Tony Hawk games. They're the only ones I'm really good at. They put out something pretty similar in 2012 called Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD which was a greatest hits edition of the first two games with a handful of levels and updated graphics. It was pretty bad though, with super floaty physics and not a lot of content. But that game was made by the people who made THPS 5, and this is made by Vicarious Visions, who made the Crash remasters as well as most of the Game Boy Tony Hawk games from back in the day.

So I'm cautiously optimistic, but I'll buy it regardless.

Put my preorder in the day the trailer dropped. Like Lamrock, I'm cautiously optimistic, but as long as they don't try and reinvent the wheel, I think it'll be great. Simplicity is what made the first three games practically perfect.

That's the song I would have chosen for the trailers. As much as I love Police Truck, a song satirising police corruption is a strange choice - plus I think Superman is more widely associated with the first game.

The "growing older all the time, looking older all the time, feeling younger in my mind" line also feels apt for the nostalgia involved with bringing back a classic.

I think the reason they didn't go with Superman this time is because they used it for THPS HD. Still, I think No Cigar or May 16 from THPS 2 would be more iconic choices since that's the game most people remember.

I feel like they'll go all out with this and it'll be good... Pro Skater 5 was too much of a fuckup.

I second that!
Honestly speaking, I was sort of afraid that with all the technological possibilities they'd overdo it. The game is really great.
I love the original series on PS, so many hours of play.
I've unlocked all the parks and have ~8 tasks in order to complete them all. In 2 days :D

I 100%'d both games or week or two after it came out and I was a relative noob... well, I had played the Underground games, Wasteland and Project 8 (a game I would like to add back to my collection) a decent amount growing up but didn't really know to manual to string combos together and stuff like that.

Now just waiting on Skate 4... I feel like Skate is to Tony Hawk what 2K is to Live.
